I love a good tool, one with the right features designed by people who understand tools and want to give their customers the best professional power tools they can. Milwaukee makes professional quality heavy duty tools used by construction, manufacturing and even us home owners and do it yourselfers.
The Milwaukee Sawzall brand has been around for a long time, so long that people commonly refer to reciprocating saws as Sawzall's. The Milwaukee brand is known for its quality and professional heavy duty design and the Sawzall M18 is a great product.
The Milwaukee Sawzall M18 kit that I received is a fantastic kit that includes the 2620-20 Sawzall reciprocating tool, two 18 volt rechargeable batteries, an 18 volt one hour charger and the carry case. There is also a manual for the tool and the charger as well as a single multipurpose blade but the blade is just a toss in for the first use.
The Sawzall tool is an 18 volt rechargeable reciprocating saw that has a once inch stroke length and a 0 to 3,200 stroke per minute motor. The tool itself weighs 7.9 pounds and the tool in the carry case with the batteries and charger weighs about 18 pounds.
The speed measured in strokes per minute is controlled by the trigger with a variable speed using the trigger and how much you pull the trigger back. The trigger can control the blade simply by only pulling it part way for a slower speed or fully for that top speed of 3,200 SPM.

The tool is hefty enough to be used with good control but not so heavy that you will get tired using it but of course if you're using it constantly it will get a bit heavy. The rechargeable Sawzall is easy to use and very easy to change the blades out with a quick change blade clamp that Milwaukee calls Quik-Lok that has a lever to release the blades.
The Milwaukee M18 Sawzall uses standard reciprocating saw blades that come in a wide variety for all kinds of materials and uses but the single included blade will get you started. For a wide variety of jobs around the home and garage or shop you can use a common 6 inch 14 or so tooth per inch bi-metal blade.
The Sawzall can cut through wood like studs or panels of plywood, metal like pipes or garage door tracks and plastic like plumbing and electrical PVC pipe. For metal and plastic a smaller tooth per inch blade is used while wood and rough cuts use a larger tooth per inch blade.
They even make blades for specialty cutting like for fiberglass, hard metals, stone, concrete and tile using carbide and diamond impregnated blades. The Sawzall does an excellent job around the home even for those larger jobs like building a deck or garage which it has seen plenty of use for my review.

I have used it extensively during the past couple of months both at my home and my mother in laws building a deck which works great especially for the tear down of the old one. The Sawzall works great at building and construction cutting through 2x4's, 2x8's and even branches using the right blades.
I used the Sawzall to build a deck and for extensive remodeling in my garage cutting those 2x4 and 2x8 boards as well as destruction like cutting out old wood and that old deck. Building a support for my garage out of 2x4's and 2x8's was simple using the Sawzall to cut through the board and especially for the boards that were nailed in place where I just wanted to trim off ends.
The Sawzall can use the longer and more teeth per inch for branches so you can use the tool for pruning and trimming as well as those construction jobs. The shoe has enough of a grip for branches up to about an inch or two in diameter but for larger branches all you need to use is a firm grip.
The shoe on the Sawzall is the platform that presses against the work piece so the tool doesn't move back and forth with each stroke but you can also use a good grip to hold the saw from moving with the proper leverqage. The shoe is large enough to keep the tool steady on a variety of work pieces but not too large that using it on small or odd shaped materials is difficult.

The tool has a nice grip and a good front end that is nice for using your other hand to steady the tool so you have good control. While Milwaukee now has a one handed tool that uses a different tool shape much like a drill this tool uses the standard grip of a reciprocating saw for those tough heavy duty jobs.
The Sawzall is simple to use and the two batteries that come with this tool set makes for quick change and continued use of the tool. The charger is also easy to use and does charge the batteries in about an hour so you can always have a charged battery ready.
It would be very hard to time or gauge the battery life but I have used it extensively and found that it does hold a charge for more than just a few cuts here and there. I have used it for things like taking apart a deck and cut through twenty five or thirty deck boards easily on one charge.
If you get other tools from Milwaukee you should try to get the same series like the M18 so you can use the various tools with the same batteries. Having several tools like the circular saw and now the Sawzall works great and the Sawzall from Milwaukee works so well it earns my Blue Ribbon for Excellence.
The Milwaukee Sawzall M18 series works exceptionally well and I was highly impressed with the Sawzall and the heavy duty performance it displayed in all my uses. I highly recommend the Milwaukee Sawzall M18 Recip tool for a fantastic and versatile tool for cutting and general construction work.
