Game Jackal will perform a save and write to your hard drive when you start a profile for a game and play the game. You need to start a profile and then insert the game disc into your DVD drive to start the process of the program writing an ISO image of the game to your hard drive. It will not write the entire disc, just the pieces the game is found to be asking for when you play the game for several minutes, this is why you play the game while Game Jackal is first building a game profile.
The program does not work on all games as I have found out but with about 85% of them it will work and works very simply. All you have to do is build a profile and then run the game through the Game Jackal program that you can open from the desktop icon or from the start menu or even from the tray icon you can have running from Windows startup.
One great feature of Game Jackal is the Game Guardian that adds parental control to your gaming. The Guardian Control adds rating specific control as well as being able to add time specific gaming using the Game Jackal program so you control if and when little gamers can game through Game Jackal.
Game Jackal as well as all the other programs will be updated often as more companies try their hand at more and different copy protection. But like the big controversy over all this copy protection this is for your own personal use and not selling illegal copies. They update the programs regularly and even the Game Jackal will have new games included in these updates to add their specific protections to the program so you won’t need to insert the disc just to play your own game.
I really like the set of programs from SlySoft and really do think they are the best set of DVD, CD and game copy programs available that I have seen. They are all simple to use with plenty of nice features and work so well that it only takes a minute or so to start your copy execution.
AnyDVD HD, CloneDVD, CloneCD, CloneDVD Mobile and Game Jackal from SlySoft really takes the work out of legally copying your disc collections and offers the features you need for all your copying and disc protection needs. Besides the sheep are just so cute.
