SlySoft does a wonderful job of protecting your DVD, CD and gaming disc collection for your own peace of mind not having to wear out those valuable discs.
I was totally impressed with all the software I received from SlySoft: AnyDVD HD, CloneDVD, CloneCD, CloneDVD Mobile and Game Jackal. The three programs for cloning and copying discs are CloneDVD, CloneCD and CloneDVD Mobile and the AnyDVD HD allows you to copy protected software discs using these programs. Game Jackal is the gamers dream program of being able to play your games and not having to insert the CD or DVD to play the games.
Protecting your valuable DVD and CD collection as well as games is what this software set is all about as well as allowing you to effortlessly copy these to the devices you want such as the Sony PlayStation Portable or mobile video players like the iPod touch. I will go through each software program and evaluate them as a whole set of programs but any one program as well as all five are well worth the cost and then some.
All five programs get the same rating and earn my Blue Ribbon for Excellence without any problems at all in use or performance. I found all the programs very easy to use and even got a little bonus before I could even complete my review, they updated a few of the programs before I got done checking them out completely, just to show how well they continue to support their products.
AnyDVD HD is a great program that runs in the background of your computer and removes the protection that is included on many discs to allow you to copy your legally purchased movie. The AnyDVD HD version that includes support for high definition discs as well as Blu Ray allows you to remove the encryption software that protects even the high def and Blu Ray versions of movies to allow you to copy them and protect the originals.
This copy protection is included on movies to protect the copyright of the movies so people cannot copy them and then sell the copies but if you own the movie you should be able to copy them yourself just to protect your original investment. Any argument about copyright protection aside, AnyDVD HD allows you the peace of mind of being able to copy those expensive Blu Ray discs so you can use a copy and not worry about ruining them in regular use.
The program also allows you to copy the movie over to your mobile device such as an iPod touch, the Microsoft Zune or Sony PSP using the DVDClone Mobile program. AnyDVD HD installs in a few minutes and works when you turn your computer on in the background with a simple driver that runs when you insert a disc into your DVD drive.
The program simply scans the encryption programs that are on the disc and tries to remove that protection to allow you to work with your DVD how you want. It not only removes the encrypted protection it can remove PC-friendly software from installing on your computer such as a movie player that some movies try to install on your computer when you watch the movie on your PC.
It will also remove the annoying FBI warning pages during the recording phase so you don’t have to sit through all these useless warnings from your own discs. The program allows you to control your computer in many ways including refresh rates of your monitor and speed of the drive for optimum viewing enjoyment of movies on your computer.
