Corel Digital Studio 2010 is a multimedia suite for organizing, editing and sharing video and photos that includes an organizer, editors for video and images, a publishing and burning program and a DVD player. The Corel Digital Studio 2010 is a mixed bag but created for easy yet simple editing of your digital media and does work pretty well.
The Corel Digital Studio 2010 is a suite of digital media programs starting with a photo editor called Corel PaintShop Photo 2010 that works well for simple but pretty thorough editing of images. The Digital Studio 2010 also contains a video editor in the Corel VideoStudio 2010 which is a basic editing program with enough features to give simple video editing.
The Corel DVD Factory 2010 is a basic interface for importing, converting and saving files in various formats and especially exporting to media like DVD and CD's. Finally we have the Corel WinDVD 2010 player that is a basic DVD player for movies and even those videos from the editor.
The set of programs for editing and manipulating media as well as exporting works well and I really did not have any major problems working with any of the four programs. All of the programs did not have any major errors and all the formats and various media I used worked just fine including video fromĀ several different cameras I use.
Corel PaintShop Photo 2010 is an image editing program that works well for simple edits like cropping, changing brightness or removing red eye. The PaintShop Photo program starts off in a simple organizer interface so you can find the images or photos you want than jumps into the editor page from there.

Editing images is simple with commonly used tools like red eye removal auto fix and cropping along the top and more complex tools like individual sliders for brightness and color in a side pull out menu along the right of the page. The image editor like all other programs are more of a basic nature and have limited tools but for simple photo editing from point and shoot cameras the program works well.
The Corel VideoStudio is the second main component of Digital Studio with a simple and easy to use video editor that also starts out in an organizer and allows you to select video and images to use in a project or a movie. You can simply edit a video clip with tools like cut and trim and output the video clip to a file or perform a more in depth video editing using the Movie function.
You can add titles, transitions, menu functions and more using the VideoStudio along with the DVD factory program that is also included in the set. I think the programs are separated in the three programs like they are to keep functions like exporting and creating discs simple so all exporting functions are done through the video and image programs.

Any exporting to discs, configuring menus and creating final products are done through the DVD Factory program to keep things a little more simple for beginning users. The DVD Factory is a simple to use media converter and uses simple selections from menus or placing projects in the media tray located on the bottom of the page.
The last program is the Corel WinDVD media player that is a basic DVD and movie player that is also simple to use but does not play Blu-ray movies. The WinDVD player can play a variety of media formats including Dolby audio and your general DVD's and CD's for a decent player that works fine even with current movies.
I had no problems using any of the programs or any features I checked out but I have to warn about the basic features and how this is a very basic program set. The image editor and video editor does include about all the features any image and video editor does contain but that is about it.
There is no complex editing tools so this is a basic editor and not a more in depth one which goes well with the basic layout and trying to keep things simple. Both the image editing and video editing is also somewhat different than other programs so if you already have used other editors this may be confusing till you get used to the different layout and features.
Once I started in on editing for both video and images I had no problems and found the help section easy to use and get answer for things I wanted to perform on projects. Other than one small annoyance dealing with dual monitors not remembering which to use for the program when reopening I found the programs worked well and it was just a matter of finding out how to do the things I wanted to do using any program.

You can make simple changes to pictures like red eye removal, adjusting colors and brightness or adding effects like turning a color picture into black and white or old time using a sepia filter. The video editor can create simple movies with transitions and titles as well as end credits along with menus using the DVD Factory which also converts video and images for transferring to other devices or media.
Corel Digital Studio 2010 is your all in one basic media suite for image and video editing that includes simple to use features to export to devices like MP3 video players and even internet sites like Facebook and YouTube. Corel Digital Studio 2010 is well worth a look if your wanting a program suite that includes lots of simple but basic features for image and video editing and publishing.
