Systweak Advanced Vista Optimizer 2009

Other parts of the program are ones that I do recommend but you can also use free programs like AusLogic’s Disk Defrag that does the same thing as the disk defragmenter. The registry defragmenter is not a really necessary one; a program that I would have preferred over this one is a registry cleaner like WinAso’s Registry Optimizer or Easy Cleaner by ToniArts.

These programs, WinAso’s costs about $30 but EasyCleaner is free, cleans and gets rid of registry entries that are useless and no longer needed by your system. This keeps the system working better and reduces errors instead of just tidying up the registry that the registry defragmenter does.

Advanced Vista Optimizer does have a lot of good utilities but most of them can be had for free from Windows itself or from additional programs that you can easily download from the internet. This program does have a good set of utilities that works well but I just don’t know about paying for stuff that can be had for free elsewhere with a little effort.

Initial Optimization

I like the one click cleaning that Advanced Vista Optimizer does give you but you have to be careful not to delete too much or you will find things starting to become a problem instead of better. It’s easier to ignore the questions and not delete stuff the program says just in case, that way you don’t delete things you need.

You should also check out what you’re deleting, like cookies, to make sure you really do want to delete them soyou should find out what they are. The cookies that I mentioned are recorded things like sites you visit and use passwords for so if you delete these you will lose these recorded passwords.

Another thing that I repeatedly came across while looking up information about this program is it speeds up your system, “Restore the power and performance”. I did not see this performance increase as my testing showed no change in computer performance in games and general computer benchmarks.

I checked out my computers frame rates in a couple of games, Call of Duty: World at War and World in Conflict and did not see any changes between before and after with the optimizer. I also checked my disc drive performance using SiSoftware Sandra Professional to see if CPU and drive performance is increased and did not see any changes in CPU arithmetic or drive read write speeds.

Performance due to loads of extra files and other data that the cleaner will get rid of will slow down a system but you will have to get a lot of this data piled up before it becomes a problem. I have seen where this type of data that is stored on the hard drive can become a problem but this happens after it fills the hard drive.

AVO 2009 Doing Its Work

The cleaner does a great job of clearing out this data so this part is true if it does fill your hard drive performance will be affected. I just don’t think you need to purchase a program when another like CCleaner from Piriform can be had for free that does the same thing.

I have been using several programs for years and have been more than happy with them as well as one that I pay for that works really well. I do recommend you purchase a registry cleaner or at least use one like EasyCleaner for cleaning out the registry as well as a few other free programs.

While Advanced Vista Optimizer 2009 does a great job of cleaning and optimizing your system it does cost the $35 so you may want to think hard about this. If you want a one stop program for all you’re cleaning and optimizing Advanced Vista Optimizer 2009 works very well.
