PassMark Performance Test

There are also five separate tests you can customize or run at their defaults to test specific areas of your computer like the hard drive, optical drive, 3D graphics, networking, memory and multitasking. Each of these tests has variables and features you can adjust to tests certain aspects of those components or systems. This way if you’re having a problem with a specific component you can test only the thing you are having trouble with to help you diagnose the problem.
One good way to compare results is using the online download of baseline scores using systems with the same specifications such as processor type and speed, memory size and video card type. You can also quickly and easily find uploaded results of your own computer by using the search with your systems specifications and the date range of when the results where uploaded. This way you can easily find your results for comparing results you uploaded like my two computers.
I have two systems at home that I use for my freelance work with two types of motherboards running the same operating systems and similar processors but very different video cards. The two systems run pretty close to each other and being able to compare the different systems with various components is nice to know for things like which will run a specific program or game better.
This way I can also keep these scores handy and occasionally test my computers to see if performance ever slips on one of them. If I find one system is suddenly performing much lower this may indicate a hardware or software problem that I could troubleshoot and fix. This is one of the main reasons to purchase a benchmarking program for individuals who are not going to be reviewing various components but using the computer on a regular basis.
Another reason to use a benchmark program that has a good baseline comparison is to see if you would be getting much better performance by installing and using a different component in an upgrade of your system. To do this type of comparison you can check out the various systems that have components like yours and similar results and then compare that to ones with the component you are thinking of purchasing to see how that affects the scores. I tried this out by using my system and seeing what an upgrade of a better video card would do.
I found plenty of systems with similar components to use as a comparison and then several with better video cards and the results showed some cards that seem to perform better in systems that are similar to mine but the cost may not be worth it. Cost is a big factor in deciding to purchase new components for a system and being able to see how much of a performance for a new part may give you could be a deciding factor. Using a comparison to see how much of a better benchmark score you may get by upgrading something like memory, CPU or video card enables you to see what the same kind of upgrade may do for your system.

Benchmarking your system is not only for upgrades or just bragging but may be used to see how certain things like optimization programs or system improvements in software affect your system performance as well. Wondering if that optimization program is worth the hassles or installing that new driver will affect the performance in gaming or using a program. Just run the benchmark and then try out the new driver performance update or other program and see the results in a very easy to check out bar chart for an easy to see result.
The PassMark Performance test is an easy to use test of your systems performance in a way that is not only easy to see but easy to compare with systems you can find and compare to yours. This inexpensive and easy to use program is one of the best I have seen for simple and easy to use benchmarking programs for beginners and enthusiasts that contain easy to use baselines or comparisons for you to use.
I highly recommend the PassMark Performance Test for an easy to use and clear way to test and benchmark your computer system.
