Christa Borden is new on the Pop/Rock scene and with her debut album she has been on tour with her new songs, six of them written by Jeff Trot. She also had help from mixer Bob Clearmountain for the six songs and with her release of the hit Empty Bottles she is making her new presence known.
She is currently rising on the HOT AC and FMQB AC charts with her single Empty Bottle which along with the rest of her album are great pop music recordings. Much of the songs were written during a trying personal time for her and the lyrics come through showing this very much.
It's these heartfelt and emotional recordings that show through the entire album and give the songs such feeling and on the flip side an entertaining feel. The album contains eleven songs with some written by acclaimed songwriter Jeff Trot and include:

Empty Bottles is most definitely the highlight of the album that typifies the rest of the songs but the others surely are almost as good. I enjoyed all the songs of the album and Christa does fit nicely into my collection and favorites.
Christa reminds me a lot of some of my favorites like Natasha Bedingfield and Anna Nalick with just a slightly smooth tone to her voice. She is surely at the beginning of her career and with a little more seasoning will be a great singer with some great albums to come.
The title of the album really typifies the soul of the songs with its paradox and many of the songs have a great message and feel to them. Christa Borden is definitely an up and coming star and her songs are ones that may not be at the top of the charts right on release but they are steadily climbing.
Unlike those one hit wonders that rocket to the top of charts and sales lists she is steadily winning over her fans and making more with her soulful yet uplifting songs. I really think Christa Borden is an up and coming singer and will rise to good heights in the coming release of more of her work.
