For StarGate fans the next movie in the StarGate universe is a welcome addition with all the players, however brief for some, and a fantastic story line that resembles the classic story telling of the first seasons. StarGate: Continuum shows off the talents of all those involved with the StarGate: SG1 series and continues the great StarGate sci-fi action with a self contained story.
StarGate is a science fiction series with a few movies under their belts that tell parts of the story revolving around the StarGate. Those new to the StarGate universe will quickly find out that the device known as the StarGate is a way to travel from one planet to another built by aliens known as ancients who are long gone.
SG teams travel to distant planets and even other galaxies trying to stop others who would do our world and our allies harm. These teams are tasked with fostering good relations with new acquaintances, finding new technology to help their cause and always trying to stop the bad guys of the universe.
It may sound like a very familiar storyline but the well made story has continued for ten seasons and has even spawned a spin off in StarGate: Atlantis that is on its fifth season. The major bad guys have changed over the seasons but they have usually been a main group that cannot be easily defeated mainly due to the fact that the universe is such a large place.
The story follows the ending of the StarGate: SG1 series ten season run but opens up an entire story that is easy to pick up for newcomers and a treat for already familiar fans. Time is changed by Ba’al and the entire StarGate program never happened but three StarGate team members who were traveling through the StarGate at the time are stranded in a changed universe.
