Joe Rogan: Talking Monkeys in Space

Joe Rogan may be more commonly known for his work as commentator of Fear Factor and UFC, Ultimate Fighting Championship, but his comedy work is also impressive. He adds plenty of real life humor and a bit of a different look at life to his act.

While he does use a few swear words in his act this is good comedy and well worth a viewing as well as ownership as part of a full DVD collection. If you like the straight truth Joe Rogan doles it out without breaking stride whether its our new black president and the illegality of weed or masturbation.

Joe does have a few high risk themes that are adult only but his act is great and one that I highly recommend for anyone who enjoys a great laugh. Joe may not have a long show at 40 minutes for the main act and another thirty or so for the add on question and answer with the audience but it is well worth the cost.

Joe looks at many things from our president and how many thought cannabis would be legal before we elected a black president to having a baby. Joe's act may not be for the squeamish but for modern free thinking individuals who don't mind the topics he's great.

A look into this guys life can typically explain his comedy like how he explains that they really did not know what they were doing on Fear Factor and that people actually did eat the things they said they were. He also goes into depth about the illegality of weed and a discussion on drugs as well as getting caught masturbating but it's all in good fun.

His act is a no holds barred riot and one that I found was well worth watching even though it was short but the extra content makes up for this some. The DVD release of Talking Monkeys in Space has the forty minutes of his stage act and a thirty minute question and answer with audience members coming to a microphone and asking him questions.

There are also seven and eight minute bonus features that go behind the scenes in making the comedy special and what happens before the show in Columbus. The DVD release has good video and clear audio in Dolby Digital for the show but you really do not need the surround sound, front stereo is just fine with these comedy specials.

The audio is fine and you do get to hear all the jokes easily as well as the questions the audience is asking later on in the second part. The entire main show is well done without any problems for a pretty good overall show that does make a great addition to anyone's comedy special collection.
