Curious George 2 Follow That Monkey

Ted certainly has his hands full with his little friend George in the second full length feature film on standard DVD with Ted voiced by Jeff Bennett. Curious George of the children's story fame finds a new friend when a magician using a young elephant in his show finds his elephant has escaped.

Ted starts off the fun with a promotion to head curator when his mentor retires but Ted at first is quite worried that someone else will get the position. Ted had no reason to worry as the retiring curator had no intention of even looking at anyone else for the job.

George follows his usual antics when he watches a circus magician perform an elephant appearing trick and George befriends the lonely and sad elephant. George and the elephant Kayla, leave the circus life because Kayla is lonely and wants to find her siblings.

George follows Kayla and the pair become national fugitives as the news and the circus report Kayla as kidnapped with the circus cop leading the hunt. Or is that elephant napped, do they even have a word for holding an elephant hostage?

George and Kayla travel across the country by foot, truck and train in search of Kayla's brother and sister hounding first by the worried Ted and then by just about everyone. When Ted finds out that Kayla with George being the friendly and kind monkey he is just trying to reunite the family he helps them and ensures the happy ending of a child friendly film.

Curious George 2 is a great story and well worth a purchase as a classic children's story brought to the big screen with plenty of great songs. The film features music by Brian Wilson, Carbon Leaf, Jackie Green and Heitor Pereira for some great sounds that kids will enjoy.

The film does a great job of continuing the further adventures of George with his naturally curious nature that always gets him into more trouble. The standard DVD edition is great for video and audio with an emphasis on the audio which is usual for both DVD and Blu-ray.

The DVD has a few great extras for bonus content on the standard DVD edition with 2 episodes of the cartoon show in the current season that have not aired yet. There is also a game with two main parts in a state matching game and a numbers game.

The additional content also has some DVD ROM features with printable coloring sheets and some more but the extra content is pretty good for a kids movie on standard DVD. The film is good with the usual children themed story and the fun of a familiar character in Curious George and the extras just add more to an already inexpensive DVD.

Curious George 2: Follow That Monkey is well worth a purchase for kids that enjoy the story or the cartoon series on your favorite television or cable channel
