Bill Engvall Aged and Confused

I love Bill Engvall and his comedy can be summed up in exactly what he says about himself, comedy can be clean and funny, it just takes a little work. Bill Engvall is funny, hilarious in fact and his fresh take on hitting fifty is great and his realistic look at life and many things with fresh eyes.

Bill Engvall just as he points out is a comedian that can use clean jokes and language and still be funny which is one of the reasons I love his comedy. He reminds me of Bill Cosby with his safe clean jokes where he looks at his own life and pokes fun at himself instead of others.

I think this is one of the main reasons I like Bill Engvall, and Bill Cosby for that matter, he doesn’t have to hurt others feelings or make fun at another’s expense. He uses his own life and experience to make jokes that anyone can understand and laugh about as you know it’s true.

Fifty something’s nightclubbing, game night with the wife and a few friends and more are Bill’s fodder for this round of stage comedy which works out really well. While the show looks at life after fifty there are plenty of other jokes about everyday life with the regular guy look and even the personal favorites of Here’s Your Sign.

Bill looks at everyday life and trying to keep things new and exciting for married couples even when they have been married for years. He also takes a look at things like trying to have fun on game night when the wife insists on playing board games with friends.

Bill Engvall Aged and Confused is a fun time and I did laugh out loud several times and laughed from start to finish of his more than an hour comedy act. The video is pretty good but about par for the course for a stage act filmed from several views in standard definition video.

The show looks good but is nothing above average for video quality but is more than watchable and enjoyable with good color but a little grainy. Technically the video and the audio is fine and more than enjoyable with the audio in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound.

The audio is just fine and you can clearly hear Bill throughout the show well without any problems, audience laughter and clapping does not drown him out and you can easily hear his jokes. The audio is in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound but is quite heavy on the front and center speakers as you would imagine.

The Aged and Confused DVD includes the hour long main feature and a six or so minute bonus feature with Bill’s infamous Here’s Your Sign addition. The Here’s Your Sign feature is the signature Bill Engvall look at everyday people who say things not exactly using common sense but we hear them all the time.

Another thing I really admire Bill for is his use of all new material in his current DVD and stage acts, no repeat jokes here. Bill Engvall may have gotten a bit of a reputation with his Blue Collar Comedy Tour but he stands on his own as a great comedian with original and funny jokes.

Bill Engvall Aged and Confused is a great DVD and well worth the low cost of about $10 to $15 depending on the store or site you purchase it from. The video is a fun look at the world from the view of Bill Engvall, a fifty something comedian who really could do nothing else, good thing this comedy gig worked out.
