Take a powerful 450 watt motor on a two setting control and store everything in the mixing bowl and a top section for a compact and powerful food processor that is easy to use. The Oster 10 Cup Professional Food Processor keeps things simple and compact for a really excellent food processor for any kitchen.
The Oster 10 Cup Food Processor is widely available at local stores including Wal-Mart and at online stores with a cost of about $100. The food processor comes with the base unit, 10 cup bowl, large and small food pusher, two discs and two blades, disc stem, storage bowl lid and scraper with instructions.
The pushers fit inside each other along with everything else that fits into the bowl or storage section for a fully compact one piece unit when everything is in its stored place. The only piece that does not fit into the unit is the plastic scraper but with the way the Oster unit stores this is really no problem.
The base of the food processor is made with simplicity in mind as the buttons on the unit are simply on, off and pulse. The pulse is your usual quick way to get things cut or mixed with only the motor moving while you hold down the button and the on keeps it going until you push the off button.
Both of the discs that come with the food processor are reversible with small and medium sized round holes that shred on one and the second disc has two thicknesses for cutting slices. The discs fit in the top of the food processor using the stem that fits on the sealed center post of the bowl that fits into the top gear of the motor when the bowl is fitted to the base.
The stem is used with all the discs and blades that come with the 10 cup food processor so it is an important piece of the unit. The stem and the dough blade fits into the top storage section that fits into the bowl after the cutting multipurpose blade.
Once the blade and then the storage bowl are put into the large bowl the discs can go on top of the storage bowl with the dough blade and stem in their fitted storage locations. The lid goes on top of the storage bowl with the two pushers in the lid and everything is all in one piece for easy storage except the scraper.
The scraper is a handy utensil to keep around with the food processor as it is specially shaped to make scraping the bowl out easier. One side of the scraper has a 78 degree angle and the other has a 100 degree angle to give the front of the scraper two edges that fit the bowl well.
Using the Oster food processor is nice for all kinds of food preparation including mixing dough and blending batters as well as the cutting and shredding. I tried several recipes including a carrot cake, cheese cake, a French onion and bacon tart, donuts and batter for fish and cheese sticks.
I also used the food processor for general shredding and cutting in making potatoes and vegetable soups and for other recipes. I used all the various discs and blades on both sides to test out the cutting and shredding, mixing and blending of the food processor and was very impressed with the power and general ability of the machine.
I had no problems with all the various foods I cut, shred and blended with the food processor and really am impressed with how well it works. I really enjoyed the power behind the machine and the safety features worked well without being too intrusive or annoying.
The machine will not work unless the bowl is twisted on and in the correct locked position and the lid needs to be fitted on and locked in as well. The safety features are well designed and worked just as you would expect without being a pain while trying to use the processor.
I had no problems at all using the Oster 10 Cup Professional Food Processor and am very impressed with the professional design and well made machine. I highly recommend the Oster food processor model FPSTFP4600 as an excellent food processor for any kitchen.
