Honeywell HHT-145 HepaClean Air Purifier

The Honeywell HHT-145 HepaClean UV Antibacterial HEPA Tower 3-in1 Air Purifier makes an exceptional air cleaner/purifier for many situations. If you're looking to just clean out the dust and pollen the HHT-145 has a foam pre filter and HEPA filters that pulls particles out of the air down to 2 microns.

The HHT-145 also has the added purification of an ionizer internally to get rid of small particles from the air using the electrical properties of ionization. The Air Purifier also has a two bulb Ultraviolet air cleaner that kills germs and bacteria due to the properties of UV light.

The Air Purifier has a built in blower fan that helps move the air through the filters and across the other two air cleaner features as well as oscillates the tower. The fan helps pull air through the tower fast enough to change out a 185 square foot room, 13 by 14 foot, 5 times every hour.

The Honeywell Air Purifier is about 11 by 10 inches and 30 inches tall with the controls on the top that has 12 speeds of cleaning. The controls also have a filter replace indicator, oscillator on/off, ionizer on/off, UV light on/off and timer controls.

HHT-145 Controls

The Honeywell HHT-145 has a 1 to 18 hour timer to clean on a timed cycle so the cleaner shuts off after the desired hours. The filter has easy to use controls and simple on off controls for the UV, ionizer and oscillation for an easy to use air purifier system.

The pre-filter for the HHT-145 is your common black 1/4 inch foam filter material or a carbon charcoal filter for odor reduction. You can purchase new Odor-Lock pre-filters from the Kaz website for about $25 but the foam pre-filter and the HEPA filters are reusable.

The HEPA filters can be vacuumed out and the foam pre-filter can be washed and both should last the lifetime of the air purifier itself. You can purchase the HEPA filter for about $40 from the Kaz website which is a site that sells Honeywell products among other air purifier and humidifier products.

The two HEPA filters install from the back of the tower under the back cover which has the pre-filter installed for an easy to get at system for cleaning out or replacing the filters. The UV bulbs are installed behind the upper HEPA filter for replacement should it every need to be and costs about $40 which is also available from Kaz.com.

The Pre & Hepa Filters Doing Their Job

Once you plug in the Air Purifier you can turn the various features on or off and oscillate the cleaner to get better air circulation in a room. The air cleaner is perfect as an air cleaner to get rid of dust or for allergy or other health related problems to help clean the air of pollen, dust and other allergens.

The Honeywell HHT-145 is the perfect size for bedrooms, computer rooms, dens or living rooms of medium to smaller sizes and is quiet. You can set the cleaner on a lower setting for night time running or a higher but slightly noisier setting during the daytime.

I found having the Honeywell HHT-145 running at the lower couple of settings was no disturbance and using all but the top couple of settings in my office no problem. The fan is not exactly silent but noise is low enough not to be a bother for the price of this air cleaner.

Filters & UV Bulb

If you need to fully scrub a rooms air you can crank the air purifier up and get the most benefits of the full air purifying for a quick and thorough cleaning. The Honeywell Air Purifier cleans well and looking at the dust in the filters it does a great job of blocking dust.

I found using the air purifier worked well for my smaller office which is the one room I do want to make sure has the least amount of dust in it. The Air Purifier did a great job of getting the dust out and by looking at the pre-filter and the dust it collected it did a good job of getting the larger stuff before it could clog the HEPA filters.

Whats in the Box

The pre-filter gets most of the dust which you can clean off the foam filter by washing with soap and water and you can simply vacuum the HEPA filters to clean them out. The air cleaner using the HEPA filters and pre-filter makes a great way to get rid of dust and other pollutants down to 2 microns.

The addition of the UV light and the ionizer makes for a great product that will be good for health concerns like asthma and is a good cleaner for the price of about $250. Other reviews at sites that sell the cleaner have some better scores for the HHT-145 with averages around 4 stars out of 5.

I found the Honeywell Air Purifier HHT-145 a great air cleaner with plenty of features to ensure a good product for allergy sufferers and people concerned with their health. This may not be a full-fledged whole house cleaner  but for the smaller rooms and extra cleaning a room air purifier can help clean a room and help reduce allergens and dust.

I highly recommend the Honeywell HHT-145 for a room air purifier with plenty of great features using filters that are easily cleaned instead of having to constantly purchase new ones.
