Happy Hour Watch

In the definitive category of odd party animal type accessories that college kids will dig the Happy Hour Watch comes in first place, if there ever was such a category. I received an email about this particular apparel accessory or time piece as many of the finer manufacturers like to refer to theirs and was interested.

Mostly I wanted to know how much this would hurt when actually using it to open a bottle, in fact it doesn't all that much and did work pretty well. The Happy Hour Watch is a wide watch with an inch and a half wide band that has a buckle that doubles as a bottle opener.

The watch itself is about two inches wide, an inch and half tall and no thicker than your usual watch with the band being a wider one than I would normally go for. The buckle for the watch has two prongs on a middle bar much like a belt buckle and has one side with a large catch for the underside of bottle caps.

Happy Hour Watch w/ Box

The watch is a nice timepiece and does not look any more out of the ordinary than many other watches I have seen that are more for wearing on a date or a night out on the town than casual every day use. The Happy Hour Watch does come in different styles with the one I received being the Dark N' Stormy model but there are a couple of others that are nice looking as well.

Just looking at the pictures does not give you the impression that the watch is anything but a nice timepiece and not some odd party accessory but it does open bottles. I have been working through several four and six packs of pops from coke and a wide assortment of odd brands that are the non twist kind to check out the watch bottle opener and it works just fine.

Face of Happy Hour Watch

There is no undo wear on the band or the buckle and the watch is no worse for wear due to using it as a bottle opener, the band does twist a little when opening a bottle but nothing more. Of course if you are anything more than a casual drinker of pop the watch may see more wear than I have given mine.

The watch is actually nice looking and no harder to read than others without the individual numbers but Roman Numerals for the 2, 3, 4 and 8, 9, 10 numbers. The words Happy and Hour are at the straight up hour and five o'clock positions in case you don't know when happy hour is supposed to start.

Band Detail

The Happy Hour watch does cost about $60 and can be found at the Happy Hour Watch website as well as a couple of other websites online. The Happy Hour Watch would make a great gift for those die hard beer drinkers who want a fashion accessory that will actually come in handy.
