The Pennsylvania Tin comes with two packages of the Asher's Milk Chocolate Covered Potato Chips, one package each of Keystone Crunch, Chocolate Covered Pretzels, Dark Chocolate Covered Pretzels, White Chocolate Covered Pretzels and Almond Buttercrunch. The Pennsylvania Tin makes a great gift package and comes complete with a very well packed gift tin including ice packs wrapped with paper towels in plastic bags.
The Pennsylvania Tin comes in a cardboard box that is the outer package for a Styrofoam cooler with the tin inside along with a couple of bags with paper towels and ice packs. The cooler packed tin would easily keep all day if it is dropped on your doorstep by the shipper as it is well cooled by the ice packs.
The packages in the Pennsylvania Tin are sealed and will stay fresh long enough to keep several months I am sure but I doubt they would last that long in any normal household. The tin contains 7 packs of treats with the two chocolate covered potato chips and the single packs of the other five.

The first treat I opened was the Chocolate Covered Potato Chips that are similar to the chocolate covered pretzels and a particular favorite around my area. Another company in the Fargo North Dakota area has chocolate covered chips as their hallmark treat so I am familiar with the confection and the Asher's offering is an excellent one.
I enjoy the taste combinations of sweet and salty with the chocolate covered pretzels and potato chips of Asher's being a great treat. The chocolate of all the Asher's treats are smooth and creamy with that perfect blend of sweet and bitter for the dark chocolate.
The Asher's Chocolate Covered Potato Chips are crunchy chips covered evenly and with not too much chocolate for that perfect blend of sweet and salty crunchy goodness. The Asher's chips are a great way to start my, and my family's way through the Pennsylvania Tin.
White chocolate pretzels are smooth and creamy with just the right amount of salty flavoring of the salted pretzels for my next tasty treat of the gift pack. The regular chocolate pretzels are also very good with the standard but excellent chocolate covering the salty good pretzel, is there such a thing as standard or regular with really good chocolate?
I just love the slightly bitter taste of dark chocolate and the dark chocolate pretzels are really that perfect blend of bitter dark chocolate with the crunchy good salty sweet pretzel. The chocolate covered pretzels have this diamond pattern on the back with the alternate diamonds having a smooth surface.

This pattern on the back shows the company took the time to even think about the surface the chocolates were being sitting on as they layered the chocolate on them. This attention to every detail shows in all the Asher's chocolates from the package to the individual pieces.
The other chocolates in the tin are the Almond Butter Crunch which is a butter toffee center covered in smooth chocolate rolled in almonds. I love toffee and the crunchy toffee center makes a great base for this treat wrapped in the delicious Asher's chocolate and almond bits holding on to the outside.
The Almond Buttercrunch is great along with all the other Asher's treats of the Pennsylvania Tin that is well worth the purchase for a gift to a special friend or loved one or even that treat for a special occasion. The Almond Buttercrunch has the most going on for combinations of tastes and flavors of the Pennsylvania Tin with its toffee, chocolate and almonds in and on the treat.
The last treat in the Pennsylvania Tin is the Keystone Krunch, a toffee covered popcorn, pretzel and almond mix that is a favorite purchase of Asher's. The toffee coated Keystone Krunch is fresh popcorn mixed with round pretzel pieces and whole almonds that is covered with buttery toffee.
The toffee is smooth, creamy and buttery tasting and has that great toffee flavor of caramelized sugar and butter used to create the coating of the Krunch. Keystone Krunch is the high end, gourmet caramel popcorn and has the more expensive almonds instead of more common peanuts.

The pretzels add a great diversity to the Krunch but I saw in the bag I received they tended to collect the popcorn in a clump when they were coated and mixed up. This clump of pretzel, popcorn and occasional almonds makes for a bite sized treat while the rest is nibble sized toffee covered heaven.
The Keystone Krunch is great and for lovers of caramel popcorn this is the real professional grade gourmet treat that is excellent for a delicious treat. In fact all six different confections are gourmet sweets that are very good tasting and are made from the best ingredients.
Asher's has been a family owned business, the oldest continuously owned and operated candy making company in the United States. Using generations old recipes and the finest ingredients you can be sure the candy you order is made to be the best you are paying for.
Asher's has taken the candy making from the tastes of yesterday to current trends including sugar free and low sodium recipes for some of their confections. The family owned business has used time tested recipes as well as more current ones since 1982, those sugar free and low sodium for the new recipes.
Chester Asher decided to break out on his own after working for another confectionary in Boston but moved to Pennsylvania to start his own business. The family has continued to grow and work at their own business of candy making since that start with a move to larger facilities a few times.
Asher's has continued to supply the world with fine chocolates and other tasty confections and they really are worth the extra cost for the fine treats. The Pennsylvania Tin costs $34.95 with shipping starting at $6.95 for the one item which means these great treats would cost $42 for the tin and delivery.

You can order Asher's confections from their website but you can get a taste of their chocolates at a local Wal-Mart as long as you don't mind the sugar free chocolates. Actually the sugar free chocolates are just as tasty and excellent as the regular chocolates that have common sugar but are not as sweet.
My son said it best after shopping for these tasty treats at our local Wal-Mart just an hour ago, they are very good and even though they are noticeably sugar free tastes that much better for it. Instead of an almost too sweet taste you have more of a noticeable cocoa taste, especially with the dark chocolate shelled truffle.
While the sugar free chocolates are also slightly expensive, the bars are $1 and the bags of 3 ounces of chocolate treats are $1.64 they are worth it. You can get a nice variety in the sugar free treats available at a local Wal-Mart including Creamy Cocoa Truffles, Pecan Caramel Patties and more.
The sugar free Asher's chocolates are in their own way just as good as the chocolates I received for review and even though I did pay for them myself were just as good. The sugar free chocolates have their own distinct and fantastic taste but with a noticeably less sweet taste.
The Pennsylvania Tin is gourmet confection treats with the six types of candies and really do make for a great gift tin for special occasions or just an indulgent treat for yourself. The Pennsylvania Tin is a tasty treat and one that does cost a bit more than your average confections available at your local grocery store but is more than worth it.
