Fans of SpongeBob Squarepants can rejoice and enjoy their Nintendo DS or DSi and their favorite cartoon character at the same time while keeping things organized. The 9-in-1 Style Kit for the Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi comes complete with the overall carry pouch that holds everything in the kit even if it is a bit crowded.
The kit also comes with the neck carry strap that connects to the Nintendo handheld itself with four game cases, a USB power cable with ends that fit both the DS and DSi and a USB car power adapter. The ear buds are also included and actually work pretty well but do not have any rubber or neoprene cups for better form fitting inside your ear.
I was actually impressed with the quality of the ear buds and can easily compare them to others I have received for reviewing but they can be a bit uncomfortable to wear for prolonged periods. The earbuds themselves are a good part of this kit and with all the other goodies it does make a great present for young ones who love SpongeBob. This kit would also make a great gift for those young at heart with a craving to show their preferences for the pants wearing scrubbie.
The 9-in1 kit is a great way to get a set of very useful items for the Nintendo DS or Nintendo DSi or both as the power cable with the USB connection can connect to both devices at the same time. The power cable will charge both devices while plugged in and can be charged from any USB port or from a car power adapter using the car charger.
The carry case has two main compartments that are zippered with the back area in front of the belt loop and carry strap ring for the Nintendo handheld itself. The belt loop easily works well on a belt or any kind of strap like on a backpack or school bag for easily taking the case and your Nintendo handheld with you.
The other main area of the carry case can carry the cable, adapter and games or earbud but not really everything in the kit as I did try to stuff everything in and it just does not fit. The carry case is a nice size to carry the handheld, a few games and a few of the accessories you may need but you will have to carry at least something somewhere else.
There is also a front pocket for whatever you wish for quick east to reach convenience that works well for a game or two or the earbuds. This pouch is not big enough for the handheld but will fit a couple of the games in the game cases that fit one Nintendo DS game each.
I found that if you leave out the car charger it does all fit so this is probably something that you should just leave in your car or van anyway. The kit really does have a lot in it when considering the fact that it only costs about $22 and is available at toy stores like Toys-R-Us.
