Far Cry 2

But the problem is it is not even remotely like the original Far Cry with no mutation stuff or none of the characters, Ubisoft is the publisher here and Ubisoft Montreal was the developer and Crytek was nowhere near this title. While it is an open sandbox game there is very little similarities to the first game so to have it named the same is kind of odd but the name does have a lot of clout.

Far Cry 2 is a great game and the single player campaign will not be a simple one to finish in a short time, it will take more than twenty five hours to finish this without doing any of the side stuff. Plus there is bonus content on the various versions that can be unlocked using codes that are given out during gameplay or you can get them from the internet.

You also have the multiplayer which currently is a bit of a mixed bag at the moment; I found it difficult to find many players playing games online in ranked matches. There seems to be a problem with an update but I am sure things will get settled and I can enjoy my online play soon.

The multiplayer gaming is on some large and open maps with a lot more uneven ground than I have seen in other games online, especially for a few maps. One map is a cliff side and has a village with plenty of paths and smaller buildings so one side gets the cliff face with its somewhat protected paths and the other gets the village with its larger buildings and great thick walls.

When I did get to a match you have a good variety of maps as well as the usual game types for play but the main problem here was getting to a match. The game just is not working but the weapons, maps and gameplay with the multiplayer is about the best I have seen with any game.

Once the connectivity issues are fixed this will be a great online game as well as single player but they better hurry, they may lose a lot of people if they don’t get things settled quick. Far Cry 2 is a great game in both multiplayer and single player and you should just go with whatever console or system you prefer for first person shooters as they are pretty much the same except for controllers.

Far Cry 2 is a fantastic game and could have been just a little better from the start with its multiplayer server issues but for now the single player is great.
