Thermaltake goes where no company dares, maybe not so daring but the Thermaltake Massive23 ST notebook cooler certainly is different than many others. The Massive23 ST has one central 230mm fan that runs from your laptop as usual for a great way to keep your laptop cool.
The Massive23 has a large opening right in the middle of the cooler housing a blue LED lit 230mm fan that is very quiet, I could not get a reading on a sound meter. The ambient noise of my house is louder than this fan and the only way you can really hear it is by putting your ear or sound meter right up to the fan.
The Massive23 ST measures 360 mm long by 300 mm wide and 52 mm tall or about 14 3/4 x 11 3/4 and 1 7/8 inches tall for a good sized cooler that easily fits a wide screen laptop. The cooler is made from plastic with a large metal mesh grate over the fan and comes with the cooler and a USB power cord with switch.

The USB cord connects to the cooler and your USB connection and has a handy on off switch on it for those times when you don’t want the fan on. The cooler works very well and is light weight so carrying it along with your notebook will not be a problem as the cooler weighs .89 kg or 2 pounds.
The Massive23 looks good but for the real test I subjected my wife’s notebook to some grueling Prime95 testing to heat things up and got some good results. Using an HP 17 inch widescreen laptop with a separate video card that does heat up pretty well I checked idle and full processor usage temperatures with SpeedFan.

Running the notebook at idle I checked temperatures both sitting on a desk and sitting on the Massive23 cooler and was getting core temperatures of 62 to 65 degrees Celsius. With the fan running I was getting a cooler 50 degrees Celsius at idle and running Prime95 to stress test the processor I was only getting 82 degrees Celsius versus the 85 to 87 degrees without the fan.
The cooler showed a drop of three to five degrees during stress testing and a whopping twelve to fifteen degrees at idle for some impressive results. The cooler works as you would expect and is very quiet to boot so I am quite happy with the results of my testing.

The Massive23 ST does a great job of keeping a notebook cooler and has the cool looking fan with its blue LED to keep things entertaining even if you’re not being entertained on your notebook. The Massive23 ST by Thermaltake is a great way to cool down your laptop in a quiet and lighter cooler that works well even under stress testing.
I recommend the Thermaltake Massive23 ST notebook cooler for a quiet and great way to cool your larger laptop or notebook computer.
