Altec Lansing Backbeat Ear Phones

Altec Lansing has come out with another line of ear bud style ear phones in the BackBeat line with quite a wide variety of styles and features along with prices. While I do have to say the quality is all here and the features for just a simple piece of audio hardware I am not convinced of the price.

The Altec Lansing BackBeat Titanium earphones comes with the earphones themselves and a few extra neoprene tips to get the fit you want as well as one pair that is double lipped for extra noise canceling. The Titanium also comes with a handy zippered pouch to carry the set with you but the quality is all in the earphones themselves.

The Titanium earphones come on a four foot cord with the split for the ears at a foot and four inches long with the cable covered in a fabric braid. This makes for some good protection for the cord while in use and for the ends like near the 3.5mm connector to reduce bending damage.

The ear buds are comfortable and with a selection of neoprene tips you have a pretty good fit according to your personal preferences. The neoprene tips fit on easily and the one does come with a double lip of neoprene to increase the noise reduction.

When using the Titanium set you do get some very good noise reduction, I had a hard time hearing people talking to me in the same room and from a room away I could not make out words at all. The noise reduction is very good with these, about the best I have seen, or heard, in ear buds but the audio quality itself is also here.

The ear phones deliver very good audio quality for all the music, movies and gaming I put them through including computer, MP3 player and handheld gaming. The highs are clear, bass is good and music as well as general sound in movies and gaming is excellent.

I had no problems with very soft sounds like footsteps in games that are very important when playing first person shooters and figuring out positions of enemies. The louder sounds of explosions and shots also sounded very good and believable in all my gaming as well as movies.

The bass does not have any sort of rumble or movement like some of my headphones that include bass vibration but you do get some when using ear buds. The bass was very good and overall I would have to say these were excellent for sound and audio quality in all my use.

Whats in the Box

I really think this is one of the best ear bud types of ear phones I have reviewed as far as sound quality goes but I am not sold on the price. The Titanium Backbeat set sells for about $80 at Altec Lansing which is pretty high for a good quality earphone set, but they are very good quality.

The Backbeat Titanium offers 16dB of noise isolation with an input sensitivity of 104dB SPL/mW @ 1 kHz using the 16 ohm impedance speakers. The Titanium is a light weight set of ear phones and are easy to fit and use with a decent body when trying to get them inserted in your ear.

I did find these at some lower prices of about $40-$50 on the internet which would definitely make them more reasonable and for the quality they do make for a great audio experience. The Altec Lansing Backbeat Titanium 326 earphones are an excellent quality ear bud style ear phones at this lower price.
