Nexus Silent Mouse

The Nexus Silent Mouse uses a special silent switch for a couple great feature but the great features don’t end there, the full optical mouse has two rates and a tiny receiver as well. The Nexus 2.4G Silent Mouse model number SM-7000B is a great laptop or desktop mouse that has a 1000 or 1600 dots per inch rate, silent switches and runs on 2 AA batteries.

The Nexus Silent Mouse has a unique silent switch technology that makes for silent mouse clicks to go along with a silent mouse wheel. The Silent Mouse also has a two rate dots per inch switch from 1000 to 16000 for that variable rate polling for a fast or a slower cursor movement.

The Nexus Silent mouse comes with the mouse and receiver, two AA batteries and a small manual but you really don’t need this as the mouse is simple to use and pretty much plug and play. You can change settings in Windows but the mouse uses common USB mouse drivers when you plug it in that are automatically installed.

Whats in the Box

The SM-7000B uses 2.4G wireless to connect to your computer and the tiny USB receiver stores in the mouse bottom when not in use near the battery compartment for the two AA batteries. The mouse also uses an auto power save feature when not in use to help save on batteries but the main feature of the silent buttons is what this mouse is all about.

In normal mice and even more expensive gaming ones mouse clicks are often a normal part of computer use but with the Nexus Silent Mouse you will not hear a thing when clicking. The mouse has almost no noise from mouse clicks as it does not use a switch like other mice for quiet computing.

Bottom of Silent Mouse

The Nexus Silent Mouse does not register anything when pressing the mice buttons on a dBc weighted sound level meter, I only got background levels when checking the mouse clicks. Measuring the levels of mouse clicks on other mice can be done and I was getting a change that was quite noticeable on the meter.

I really cannot hear the mouse when I click the buttons or when I use the scroll wheel unless my office is quiet, as in shut down my computer so I can hear the extremely low level of sound. This of course does not even register on a sound level meter if my system is on or others are watching television in the other room with the volume up.

Silent Mouse & Receiver

The scroll wheel on the mouse is as quiet as the buttons which is very quiet, I truly cannot hear them over ambient noise in my office. The Nexus Silent Mouse is a laptop sized mouse but works well for a desktop situation if you’re looking for a quiet mouse for home or office use.

If you enjoy using a smaller mouse for your desktop the Nexus Silent Mouse works well for a full time mouse but I prefer a larger mouse for day to day work. I highly recommend the Nexus Silent Mouse for a great mouse that is ultra-quiet and works well if you need a mouse that does not make noise for clicks and scrolling.
