Logitech Wireless Combo MK520

About the only thing missing with this mouse and keyboard set from Logitech is some thumb buttons on the mouse, everything else for both general computer use and gaming can be found on the MK520 set. Logitech has a number of really good mouse and keyboard sets along with individual devices and the keyboard here is yet another fantastic one but the mouse is missing those side buttons.

The Logitech MK520 is a wireless mouse and keyboard set that includes the full keyboard with number pad and multimedia keys with a mouse and the tiny USB receiver. The Logitech MK520 set includes the K520 keyboard and the M310 mouse along with the Logitech Unifying receiver.

The MK520 uses a small, tiny, receiver that is a Unifying receiver that allows you to connect other Logitech wireless devices with your computer that uses the 2.4 GHz frequency. These can be other Logitech products, especially mice if you have a better one and want to use it with the keyboard but many Logitech mice and keyboards can use this.

Whats in the Box

The MK520 mouse is more of a basic laser mouse with the two finger buttons and clickable scroll wheel that is a contoured shape to fit your hand. The mouse works well but I am more used to mice with side buttons that are nice to use for web browsing and general computer use.

I really like a mouse with the side buttons but have used the M310 mouse for a few weeks and it works great for general computer use as well as gaming. The mouse worked just fine in gaming and especially for first person shooters I had no problem gunning with the best of them.

The K520 keyboard has low profile keys that are nice for typing and easy to use for fast work but is also nice for gaming and being able to move quickly from one key to another. Fast typing is nice for those that can but even for gaming and quickly moving your fingers from one key or area to another without having to lift them as much works very well.

Bottom of Mouse & Keyboard

The K520 keyboard has a set of multimedia keys along the top with play/pause, next and previous, back and forward, favorites and calculator buttons. The Function keys are well marked along the top and have alternate uses with the orange function key for things like Mail, Home, Music, and other functions.

Of course all the keys can be readily reassigned to other keys and functions with the Logitech Set-Point software you can download from the Logitech website. The Logitech Set-Point software is a full software solution for Logitech keyboards and mice for reassigning keys and full control of peripherals.

K520 Keyboard

The software has both mouse and keyboard setup and configuration to allow you to change all available settings and reassign buttons and keys for any Logitech input devices. I really like being able to change keys like functions that I do not use all that much into media or shortcut keys for opening programs.

The Logitech software works really well with the mouse and keyboard for a full set of input devices that work really well for your computer needs. Both the mouse and keyboard have a storage place on them for the nano receiver so if you are traveling with the mouse and keyboard you can securely keep the receiver with your device.

M310 Mouse

The keyboard uses two AA batteries for power and the mouse has a space for one with both being accessible on the bottom under a cover where the spot for the receiver is. Both the keyboard and muse have an on off switch for use when you want to conserve battery power or for traveling.

Both devices travel well and the keyboard has the customary rubber bottom pads and flip up feet on the upper portion to tilt the board when you want to. I really like the Logitech MK520 set and highly recommend it for a really good buy at about $40 from both online sites and local stores.
