The Tamrac Velocity 10X Pro Sling Pack carries your photography gear in an easy to access pack that holds two full camera bodies with long lenses and more. The Velocity 10X carries enough gear for a professional in the field or an amateur in the nicely padded pack that has a unique sling that allows an easy to get at way to carry your pack.
The Velocity 10X only has one backpack strap that goes over your left shoulder and to the right side of the pack under your right arm. This allows you to comfortably carry the pack and when you want access to your gear simply swing the pack around on your body to move it to your front.
The packs zippered top opens toward the shoulders with the opening easy to get at while it’s against your body so you can quickly dig around for your gear. Using the sling pack makes it easy to carry gear and is easy to wear and put on, simply slip the pack over your head and right arm to rest the shoulder strap on your left shoulder.

The pack when wearing it on your back also uses the waist strap to secure the pack more comfortably on your back and allow you to move around easily while wearing the pack. The shoulder strap and waist strap has plenty of room for adjustment for smaller to larger people so fitting the Velocity 10X on various sized people is no problem.
While wearing the pack you can slide it around your body to access the top or the front pockets and easily get your photography gear. The main pocket is large and can easily carry two full sized DSLR cameras with lenses, even longer telephoto lenses.
The pack has the large main compartment that is about twelve inches from the top to the bottom of the pack and about a foot wide and 6 inches from front to back. The pack has a front pocket for smaller gear such as flashes, batteries, and the pack also has a smaller compartment on the main compartments top.
The smaller compartment on the top easily has room for card folders and batteries as well as chargers for the cameras and can also hold things like the smaller manuals that come with the DSLR cameras. The two compartments easily hold all your essential smaller gear while the main compartment holds the rest.

The main compartment holds the camera bodies as well as having the dividers that hold into the Velocity pack with Velcro fasteners. You can arrange the dividers how you want for one or two camera bodies and other gear like smaller camera stands or tripods and lenses.
The main compartment divides into just about any configuration you would want with both horizontal and vertical dividers to separate the compartment. Two dividers have a flap that folds over to help protect gear while it’s in the pack and there are dividers you can secure vertically in the pack to divide the pack into different levels.
This allows you to carry a shorter camera setup near the top for easy access to the main camera you need in a hurry and still have other gear in the pack. If you set up the pack for two camera bodies you can have both readily available but will have to use the dividers so that gear is under the two cameras.
The Velocity 10X is nicely padded on all sides, top and bottom to protect gear and the dividers even add to your padding if set up to provide for more protection. The shoulder strap is also padded for comfort and the waist strap has padding for about two inches out from where the straps attach to the body of the pack.
Both the waist strap and the shoulder strap have loops for holding the extra strap not used when you have the pack adjusted for your body size. The shoulder strap attaches to the pack body using a five inch strap so the shoulder strap bottom can move up and down while swinging the pack around.
The Tuck-A-Way waist belt can be tucked into the pocket along the back when not in use and the pack also features another trademarked feature. Each side of the pack has a loop of material called the MAS or Modular Accessory System to attach other Tamrac pouches and holders on to.
The MAS system means you can purchase pouches or holders for the gear you have and attach them to the sides of the Velocity pack and use on other packs or waist belts as well. The Modular Accessory System is a set of pouches and holders for individual gear such as flashes, entire cameras and even water bottles.

The Velocity pack has two buckles that secure the top down while closed by the zipper for additional security for your expensive photography equipment and a handle on the top. The pack has two attachment points on the bottom to allow attaching a tripod or other gear to the bottom of the pack but does not come with straps for attaching.
The Velocity 10X is a great and different pack that has the great main feature of being able to swing the pack around to access the top and front compartments without having to take the pack off. Using the pack is easy and getting the pack on is as simple as putting on a messenger bag, just slip the strap over your right arm and head.
I found the pack very comfortable to wear but it does take a little getting used to with having most of the weight of the pack only on one shoulder. The great feature of being able to swing the pack around to your front more than makes up for any time having to get used to the new style of pack.
The Velocity 10X is a great pack and well worth the price of about $100 for a full featured photography packs with plenty of features.
