The Tamrac Medium Lens Case model 344 is a medium sized lens case with a belt loop and side clips to allow you to carry the lens case with a belt, other carry system or on its own. The two strap loops allow you to snap on a shoulder strap or other carry strap or use the lens case on another case or photography equipment bag.
The Tamrac Medium Lens Case is 6 1/4 inches in diameter and 9 inches tall that can fit up to a 4 inch diameter lens with a maximum of 8 inches tall. The case has a good half inch thick padding throughout to protect your lens in all directions, top bottom and sides with a hard plastic disc on the very bottom.
The Medium Lens Case has two D rings on the sides near the top to attach a strap or for attaching the case to a belt or other system. The back also has a large three inch wide loop of webbing that is eight inches long that makes a great belt loop for photography belts or other systems.

The top also has a smaller webbing loop that makes a great handle to allow you to pick up the case out of a larger case or photography storage device. The lens case not only makes a great lens case for part of a gear system but makes the perfect way to protect your lenses when storing or using them in a larger setting like on site shoots.
The top uses two zippers along the single zipper so you can open the top in either direction that makes using the lens case on a belt or other system great. If you have the lens case on your right or left side the double zipper design allows you to open and close the case in either direction.
I have mention photography systems or carrying system and not explained much but not only Tamrac but other photography companies have their own take on a gear system. Tamrac has a belt and harness system much like other companies like the Speed Belt I have from Think Tank Photo.

The belt I have is a thicker padded belt that has a large buckle and small loops all along its length but easily accommodates the large loop on the back of the Tamrac Lens Case. The large eight inch tall loop on the back of the Tamrac Lens Case means it is compatible with any belt system.
The other bags I have also have a place to use the Lens Case either on the outside like clipping the lens case to the side of a larger case using carabiner clips. You can also use the side loops and a shoulder strap to carry the lens case by itself if you only need the one lens as an extra in the field.
This was the main reason I wanted to check out the lens case from Tamrac, to use it on its own as a single lens case to be carried using a belt or strap when going out to parks and wildlife areas. My wife and I enjoy walking around and taking pictures at local parks and wildlife refuges and take a variety of pictures.

Having a lens case to carry along with the bare minimum of equipment and getting those perfect shots of wildlife is a great way to get out, enjoy nature and take a few memories home with you. Keeping things simple but having the necessary tools to get the job done is what we like to do when we hit the trail so having the tough and rugged lens case with our second lens is great.
The Tamrac lens case makes a fantastic all around lens case whether you use it on its own and just to protect your expensive lenses or as part of an integrated system. The Tamrac lens case system gives you the chance to use the nicely padded lens carry case how you want with the available attachment points and loops.
I highly recommend the Tamrac Lens Case for an inexpensive nicely padded and versatile lens case that is available in three sizes for $40 to $60.
