Think Tank photo is manned by a group of designers and professional photographers creating carrying solutions for your photography needs based on how photographers work. They design not only professional quality solutions for lugging all that photo equipment around but fast access to your camera and equipment for real world field work.
Whether it’s trying to catch that celebrity before they escape or that wild critter before they dash off into the woods you need your equipment fast. While I may not agree with the paparazzi way of doing things I do agree that being able to capture the moment quickly is a necessity for photographers of any field.
Carrying around the equipment you need at a moment’s notice is not all it’s cracked up to be for some packs and camera bags but the Skin Set by Think Tank assures you quick access from the tough lightweight pouches. Although each case in the Skin Set does have a name and particular function for each piece of photography equipment you can use whichever suits your needs.
That is probably the best thing about the Skin Set and the assortment of pouches you receive, all five of the set has a different use and are designed especially for different pieces. They are a nice assortment for a wide range and sizes of cameras and accessories so you have a good match to your current equipment no matter what that may be.
The Skin Set is made to be attached to any of the Think Tank belts available from their website or a wide range of photography supply stores and sites. The belt that I received for reviewing along with the Skin Set is the Pro Speed Belt that is the mid range belt from Think Tank for professional use.
The Pro Speed Belt is a nice padded belt with a large snap buckle and nice easy adjusting strap system with a series of attachment loops all along the padding. The belt is comfortable to wear whether carrying one pouch with a few items or loaded down with a lot of equipment.
The Skin Set cases fit over the belt and through the loops on the belt, these loops are stitched all the way through the belt and padding on the belt. The Pro Speed Belt is a webbed material 2 inches wide and for 34 inches of the extra large belt that I received covered with padding and nylon.
The ends on the nylon are double sewn on the webbing as well as the loops that run from one end of the padded area to the other made from one continuous piece of smaller web material. There is also a running stitch right through the middle of the web belt and padding for the length of the padded area. This means you have a sturdy web covered with padding that goes around most of your waist with plenty of tough stitching so the belt will not come apart easily.
The Skin Set cases fit into these loops or you can leave them out from the loops so that you can rotate them along the belt, this allows quick access to the Skin Set. The Skin Set is a set of five cases each of a varying size so that you can store your photography equipment using any of the cases you wish.
