Brunton Lightweight Tripod

Using the lightweight tripod for amateur or entry level use is great and gives you a start at taking pictures like a professional. I have been using the larger version of this tripod for over six months and have been extremely happy with it. This version is shorter and weighs less but has the same great features like the pan head and quick release plate system.

The tripod works well for both studio use and in the field like outdoor photography while hiking and camping. Recently on a visit to some state parks and wildlife preserves we brought along the Brunton tripod and used it for some nice outdoor shots. The Brunton Lightweight Tripod is nice for a simple hiking or outdoor tripod and has nice rubber tipped feet so they do not sink into the ground easily.

You can take some great shots of flowers, mushrooms and other outdoor wildlife from great angles with longer exposure times using the Brunton tripod. You can also get some great shots of things from directly above the subjects using the center column in upside down with the pan head assembly between the legs.

The legs have steps that use the push button locks so you can move the legs further out for a more stable but lower platform for your camera or even video camcorder or binoculars. The 3/8 inch mount allows any device with the same size thread to attach to the tripod like camcorders, binoculars and even construction devices such as levels.

The Brunton Lightweight Aluminum Tripod is great for taking on those hikes so you can take great pictures with a steady and stable tripod even on uneven surfaces like a forest floor. The tripod is light enough to carry with you and easily packs in the carry case for simple convenience.

The Brunton carry case has two straps that adjust for a good over the shoulder type setup and has a padded shoulder pad for comfort. The two straps attach together with the shoulder pad so you can use the carry case over your shoulder or separately you can use them in a back pack style.

The two straps also allow you to quickly and easily attach the carry case to a pack frame using some simple backpacking techniques or just place the two straps over the top frame of a framed pack. There are plenty of possibilities using the long straps and the shoulder pad attaches using a long Velcro tab for securing it to either or both straps.

The Brunton Tripod is a stable and secure way to steady your camera for professional results in photography and I have had plenty of chances to test this out. I have used the larger version of this one plenty and the lightweight version is the same minus a few leg pieces.

This version has one less leg extension that the full size one and is just as sturdy and well constructed as the it’s larger brother. I have had plenty of great results since receiving the lightweight tripod and use it as a second tripod at home for my product shots but we also take it out in the field for a lightweight and portable tripod for outdoor photography.

The tripod is light enough that carrying it around, is not a hassle or uncomfortable and the sturdy structure allows for great close up work as well as scenic shots. This is a great line of tripods that are professionally designed and built at a great price that amateur photographers can easily afford.

This is not your cheap version you would find at a local chain store but a real solid and nicely painted aluminum that will last for years. The construction is really good and even has nice touches like rubber rings around the legs and center column so you don’t slam the legs or column down and dent or ruin the other parts.

I highly recommend the Brunton Lightweight Aluminum Tripod for a professional quality tripod at an affordable price. This truly is an entry level or amateur photographer’s tripod that will serve well for a wide variety of uses.
