Waring has been manufacturing blenders for over 60 years and uses their knowhow with stylish good looks for a blender that is perfect for the home and professional use. The Waring MBB520 Professional Food & Beverage Blender is a high quality durable blender with a 40 ounce or 5 cup glass container with the blade and bearing sealed on the bottom in one piece.
The base of the Waring Pro blender is a bright copper but also comes in a stainless steel model with a two speed motor with the high speed at the full 390 watts of power. The other speed is a low for mixing and other lower powered uses that works well for mixing things like salad dressings or batters.
The Waring Pro Blender is your bar and restaurant quality blender without all the fancy speed settings or removable parts. The container has the blender blades in a sealed bearing and is permanently fixed to the thick bottom of the container.
The top is a rubber cover that fits tightly on the container with a removable center measuring cup that has half of the cup as 1 ounce and the full cup as two ounces. The top has a lip so when you set the cover upside down on the counter any drippings go into the lip first and not all over your counter.

The lid is a two piece design with a plastic center that is removable and fits nicely into the larger rubber top so you can remove it and place items into the blender while it is on. The plastic top is split with a ribbed half for easy gripping and removes easily but also fits tightly in the top for a sealed fit while blending.
The base has four rubber posts that the four contoured sides of the container fit into for easy placement on the base without having to twist or lock the container on. The base uses a six bladed rubber connector to fit onto the base of the blade on the container which is made from what looks like forged steel.
The blade fits onto the base well and without any slop or looseness for an easy on and off fit that works well while blending without any locking mechanism. The container can lift off the blender while running so you can immediately take the container off the base without waiting for the blender blades to stop rotating.
The glass container is about a quarter inch thick for the side walls and much thicker around the base and on the top lip. The glass container is tough and durable for a nice long lasting glass container but you can also purchase a stainless steel container if you would like.
I tried out the blender for a few weeks and was quite happy with its performance; this is just like those blenders you see at bars. The container is very tough and the blades are sharp and cut well into frozen berries and ice cubes for those delicious smoothies and frozen drinks.
I did the ultimate blender test, no not marbles or a golf club, but blending a tray of ice cubes and not the small ones but regular one inch rectangular cubes. The blender handled the cubes well but you do have to add some kind of liquid so I made a coffee smoothie, blend some cubes, cold coffee and a shot or two of creamer and you have a great coffee cooler.
The Waring Pro blender worked well for smoothies and shakes as well as making salad dressings and other things like pancakes and batters. This is the professional blender so it has the two position switch and the switch is even a sturdy high quality steel electrical switch and not some plastic one that will break easily.

This type of blender is the kind you can just swish in soapy water to get clean for the most part but you can also blend some soapy water to get the blade really clean. I have had the blender for a few weeks and just rinsing the blender out when making smoothies and shakes works well but you may have to occasionally scrub it out for those berries and other things that may stick to the blades.
The Waring Pro blender performed very well and for the somewhat low price of about $130 you can buy this professional blender at many cooking supply, gourmet kitchen stores and other places on the internet. You can also find these at stores locally like Sears, Best Buy and Lowe’s stores to get right to the great blending.
You can literally be enjoying a shake or smoothie in minutes, simply pop off the top and add ingredients as the blender will be sitting on the counter with its good copper or stainless steel looks. The blender is really very easy to clean and you can simply swish some hot water with a drop or two of soap to clean it when you create those great smoothies and shakes.
The Waring Pro Blender is a fantastic blender and well worth the cost, I highly recommend this as an all around home blender for a powerful and great home appliance.
