Cafe Nero

The area that the filter assembly attaches to needs frequent cleaning but this also amounts to wiping with a damp cloth so cleaning the parts of the machine that do not come off is easy. Cleaning the drip tray that removes and the other removable parts can be done easily in the sink or in the dishwasher and even the entire coffee basket tray that the coffee filter go in comes off just by lifting when swung out.
Cleaning out the filters used for espresso is as easy rinsing out when you have made the coffee and the filter do come apart so getting the insides clean is simple. The entire machine is not hard to maintain and had no real problems with the De’Longhi Café Nero coffee maker.
Now how does it taste, the coffee maker works very well and coffee tastes very good but coffee is pretty standard stuff these days. It does not take a long time to make the coffee, under 10 minutes, so it doesn’t take a long time. If you use good coffee beans and fresh grind them you can make really good coffee and using the Café Nero works well for regular brewed coffee.
The espresso works well and makes pretty good espresso but not fantastic ones. I have read others who have complained about this and that with the Café Nero and found that it makes good espresso and cappuccino. Again I think using fresh ground coffee and good roast beans has a lot to do with brewing your own coffee and espresso.
I have some pretty decent coffees I purchase about two weeks ago from an online coffee supplier, Counter Culture Coffee, and am very impressed with their selection and quality of coffee beans. I believe and many that I have read about online also say that using better roast coffee beans and fresh from a supplier online instead of buying in a store makes a huge difference in your coffee.
The espresso from the Café Nero is rich and has a good amount of that frothy white and brown stuff and the espresso is nice and dark when done. It tastes good without being bitter as often happens with a steamer method of brewing espresso.
I like the Café Nero for its simplicity and how you can make either coffee or espresso on the same machine as well as the convenient tanks that you can remove. I really enjoyed using and sampling the espresso’s and cappuccino’s from the Café Nero and recommend it as a good overall product.
