While all MP3 players are not created equal some are certainly more feature packed than others while some are just too overloaded to suit my needs. I do like the features of playing video as well as music and having a simple converter is a must to get movies, videos or that odd formatted media on my player but some of these things go overboard.
One large, huge, well, whatever you may want to call it, feature is the score of programs and possible ways to get stuff onto your View compared to that other Video MP3 Player. Yes, you may know which one I am referring to but I’ll spell it out for you, I do not like iTunes at all.
I will start this review off with a rant so please bear with me, I have no Apple players or any hardware from Apple at all but have used iTunes on several occasions, including recently and it has not changed much. I do not like being crippled with one player/software program; one that does not work all that well or that hobbles my computer so much.
I want, no demand, that my hardware be easy to use and with the least amount of extra programs or other things to get it to work like I want it to. I also want more than one single way to transfer my videos, music and other audio to my MP3 player than the one way the company is giving me. Having only one source for my music is not going to cut it and being able to copy my own CD’s onto my player without any fuss is a must.
Having a video mp3 player that I can drag and drop files, music videos and other things into is very important to me and it has to be easy. Of course I understand you can’t do that with all possible formats but I do like the fact that I can sync or upload music and videos right from Windows Media Player that is probably on your computer anyway when you purchase the Sansa View.
