If you put the machine into the off position using the rear switch it takes about two to three minutes to heat the water in the internal heating chamber for your hot beverage. The beverage size and other settings are done on the small LCD panel and using the front buttons which are very easy to understand.
You have a clock on the front display as well as the beverage brewing display and cup size when it is waiting for you to brew your next cup. When brewing it will tell you it is brewing so if you step out of the room and someone else comes in they know to leave it alone.
The cup size is selectable with the left and right buttons and the machine will tell you it is low on water and not brew if there is not enough water in the water container. Filling is done with the container in place or you can remove it and fill directly from a tap. You also have a blue blinking light to tell you when the water is low so you know when to fill it, the blue light is on steady and highly visible in the water container when not brewing.
Brewing takes less than a minute even for the biggest cups and you do get hot water at about 187 to 192 degrees which is adjustable. Simply use the buttons and display to change the water brewing temperature from 182 up to 192 degrees according to your wishes.
You can use the K-Cup to get a hot cup of coffee, tea or even cocoa but I prefer to use my cocoa from a mix instead of running through a K-Cup. The K-Cups work great for tea and coffee but a few times while brewing cocoa it did not dissolve all the mix in the small plastic cup and the cocoa was a bit weak.
Coffee and even tea is great on the Keurig Platinum brewer and I really enjoy the convenience and costs saving of grinding my own coffee and using the My K-Cup filter for fresh coffee. I really enjoy the Keurig single cup brewer for my coffee as sometimes I do not drink a full pot of coffee during the day and some of it either goes to waste or is used for iced coffee.
Speaking of ice coffee this works great in the Keurig Platinum as well, just brew a small cup of coffee directly into a glass of ice and add more ice, sugar and milk or better yet flavored creamer and enjoy. The Iced beverage setting works great for coffee and tea and shows the versatility of the machine with beverages but you can also make other things as well.
The single cup brewer allows me to brew a fresh and hot cup when I want it and is great not only for beverages but for instant breakfast meals like oatmeal. The hot water is perfect right out of the brewer for using in oatmeal and other hot cereals for a quick morning meal before your work day.
The Keurig Platinum brewer is the perfect hot beverage machine and works like a charm for hot fresh coffee or tea all day long as well as working very quickly. The lower tray that is used for a drip tray comes out for taller mugs so you can fill any size mug or cup for hot beverages on the go.
I find that I enjoy making my own coffee using the My K-Cup and my own ground coffee but it is also very handy using the K-Cups as you simply throw them away when you’re done without any cleanup. The grounds stay neatly in the cup and due to the bottom being pierced by a metal prong inside for the coffee to flow out it also creates a small lip for no drips on the way to the garbage.
The Keurig single brewing machines makes a great way to create a single hot beverage and is much better in design than the pods used in some other machines. I think this works better as it is less messy with the small plastic cups instead of the pods which are a small packet of material that does drip.
The Keurig Platinum Brewer makes a great single cup of hot beverage and is probably the best coffee machine I have tested and reviewed so far. It does exactly what you want for hot beverages without any messy cleanup or having to throw some soggy packet of grounds.
While this does not make a “real” cup of espresso the smaller cups of coffee will do in a pinch and it does great for both coffee and tea as well as hot water for anything. I really enjoyed trying out the Keurig Platinum B70 Brewer from Keurig and highly recommend it for a single cup brewer whether you use the K-Cups or the My K-Cup filter assembly.
