The Fellowes Intellishred PS-79Ci does a great job of safely shredding your important documents or even ID cards and CD’s with some very nice and handy features. The Fellowes PS-79Ci shredder is a small office and personal shredder designed for medium use to crosscut shred your documents for identity protection.
The PS-79Ci uses a 9 inch wide entry slot with a cross cut shredding with plenty of safety features with the newest being their anti-jam feature. The anti-jam is not exactly fool proof but nothing on any shredder is, it is simply a switch that stops the shredder from running if it is depressed too much.
The anti-jam switch prevents you from starting too many sheets or other material into the shredder so you don’t start the shredding with too much material. They have added other features like the CD flap slot that flips over the shredding slot to improve the shredding of CD’s, ID and credit cards to improve other areas of shredding as well.
The shredder works very well and does a great job of shredding documents and such safely using a touch sensor around the slot so you cannot shred anything with fingers near the slot. Another safety feature is the auto reverse so if the shredder does jam it will start to reverse immediately to prevent it from being a worse jam.
A shredder is supposed to shred documents, id cards and even CD’s so that they cannot be read after shredding. The Fellowes PS-79Ci does a great job with its cross cut shredding but it does cut in the direction you put it in from. I noticed this when I shredded an old ID card and it left one piece with an ID number perfectly on a piece of the crosscut.
