NZXT Whisper

The power supply also has a nice feature on it for installation using a rubber gasket to lower noise from vibration between the PSU and the case for even quieter operation. The two sides of the Whisper case are covered with dimpled foam to reduce noise but this does not lower the cooling effects.

The case has a large 120mm fan on the lower section for air intake and two rear 80mm fans right above the power supply to vent air out for the PSU area. There is also a large 120mm fan on the top section in line with the CPU of both AMD and Intel motherboards for cooling in the top section of the case.
With the two sections divided I found the case keeps things plenty cool without any problems due to the good airflow through the case. I checked temperatures after installing my system and found they were just as cool as my very well ventilated Antec 900 gamers case with its large 200mm fan. The air flow is the key and allowing for more airflow past the power supply keeps things inside the case that much cooler.
Installing the hard drives is as simple as screwing the drive onto the tray and sliding the tray into the slot till it clicks into place. Installing the DVD/CD drives just means sliding a DVD/CD drive into the slot and using the side plate, a 2.5 inch floppy installs just like the DVD/CD drives but with an adapter.
You can also use a regular screw from the right hand side of the drive bay under the right panel cover to more securely fasten down any drives if you want. The lower section of the case has spaces for up to nine hard drives in three bay sections with two of the sections removable. This would be very handy as a server case with plenty of addition space for all those hard drives as well as the additional cooling in the lower section with the front and rear fans.
The case is well laid out and you have plenty of room for a regular system like an ATX motherboard using full sized video cards or even dual cards for SLI or Crossfire setups. The case also has two smaller rubber grommet covered holes for cooling tubing from a water cooling system so it is ready for a higher end enthusiast system with better cooling.
The Whisper case has lots of nice features but the best is how quiet it is once it is fully assembled and running, I cannot hear it above my other computer or my fish tank that is nearby. The case really muffles the noise of the fans and drives but does not add to the heat, I measured temperatures inside and found they were plenty cool even with my AMD Athlon CPU overclocked from 2.6 GHz to 3 GHz.

The NZXY Whisper case is a nice full tower case that has plenty of nice features for a quiet and cool running computer system whether it’s an enthusiast gamer’s computer or a server system. The case has plenty of nice features including the side panel foam and tool less drive installation with separate sections for the motherboard and power supply.
I highly recommend the NZXT Whisper case for a great looking case that costs about $140 and has plenty of room for a full system.
