Matrox has broken into that special niche of gamers who continue to strive for the best and most realistic gaming experience whether it’s 3 dimensional monitors, the ultimate controllers or even surround gaming. But the TripleHead2Go doesn’t just strive for the gamers enthusiastic approach to gaming, you can use the surround screen setup for great productivity and work flow while doing multiple tasks such as graphics work or image editing.

There is a great number of work situations that having a very wide screen would enable you to work better and more efficiently instead of using a separate computer. The TripleHead2Go allows everything using your existing graphics card and only external hardware for connections but you do need those extra monitors. The TripleHead2Go Digital version is the latest multi monitor connection device to allow up to three monitors connected to your computer from a single graphics card connection.

You get the best of surround gaming with a great peripheral vision in games while using the TripleHead2Go in games that support the feature. This is probably the biggest concern for gamers who want to use this system, what games are supported and available with the extra screen real estate you get. Currently there over 250 games supported and listed on their site and the company is working with game publishers and developers to add more games to the list.

Simply put the device connects two or three monitors to the TripleHead2Go box and allows you to input the graphics signals from your existing graphics card. You can use any regular graphics card with VGA or DVI output and the system requirements are pretty low for any computer you want to use. You can also use Windows and MAC operating systems but the best way to see if your current computer can run with a DualHead or Triple Head2Go is to run the compatibility program on the Matrox website.

The small program will check your current computer and see if you can run the system and what screen resolutions your computer will be able to give you. This will depend on the actual computer graphics card you have as well as the monitors you wish to use which brings up another point, you will want to have two or three matching monitors for any really enjoyable gaming. Using three screens that are varying sizes just does not work well and matching up the screens can be a pain but three screens that are the same size will provide the optimum gaming experience.

But it does not require three screens the same size and the compatibility program will show what your graphics card and the current screen you have connected mat be able to work at. You should figure out what the screens you want to use are and use the smallest resolution screen to see what the size will be. Generally the screen resolution you can achieve with a TripleHead2Go is going to be three of the screen sizes wide that all three monitors can achieve and the single height of the screens.

To use the TripleHead2Go with any setup of monitors you need to have all monitors you wish to connect with the same resolution size. This will be the size you can use with the three wide and the height not changing at all but you should figure out on the low side instead of the high side. The system does go up in resolution but you should not figure that you will be getting a larger screen size in height unless you use three screens that are all the same resolution and the higher resolutions are supported according to your graphics card and the compatibility program.
