The Toshiba Satellite X205-SLi6 is not a high end laptop for gaming but it does play the most current games at decent frame rates with nice graphics quality. I also tried Frontlines: Fuel of War but did not record frame rates and had a fun time playing the online multiplayer game as well. The X205 SLi-6 had no problems with graphics or gaming on all the games I threw at it even with multiplayer online games using either the Cat5 cable connected internet or the wireless adapter.
Multimedia is another area that the Toshiba Laptop does very well and comes very complete for all your entertainment needs. The laptop comes with a very good DVD drive that plays not only the regular DVD movies but has the full multidisc feature of not having to worry about all those + and – signs when you purchase blank media for recording.
The Satellite x205-SLi6 comes with a Toshiba TV Tuner that connects to your USB with two USB cable connections for power to the unit as well as connectivity. This means no external power for the TV Tuner at all to keep the number of power connections down to the one power adapter. The remote with its external sensor also connects to your USB connection and works well for all your multimedia needs through Windows Media Center.
Movies and music played well and that brings me to the Harman Kardon speakers on the Toshiba Laptop which are very good for general listening but not outstanding. They will not replace a decent surround speaker setup but will do for portable gaming and multimedia listening enjoyment with a good bass as well as regular sound through the four speakers.
The set of multimedia buttons along the top of the keyboard area also add to the laptops multimedia features and rounds out a very nice laptop full of features. If you really want to brag about some features how about not only VGA out but HDMI out for connecting a monitor and speaker setup to your Toshiba laptop for a full and rich multimedia experience on a bigger and separate screen.
The HDMI out works well and is easily one of the most current features of the laptop that is going to be a must have feature of laptops just like the VGA connection has been for years now.
Connecting an HDMI capable screen to the laptop means not only the one cable with exceptional video and audio but it keeps things simple for moving the laptop as a desktop replacement.
The Toshiba laptop comes with a fingerprint reader and a web camera as well as the software to run these additional features and both work very well. All the features of the Toshiba laptop are great but of course you are paying for them in the base cost of this model.
The Toshiba X205-SLi6 is an overall nice desktop replacement computer even if Toshiba doesn’t advertise it as one; it does a great job for a desktop and laptop computer. You have all kinds of nice features and specifications that make a good computer that much better.
The Bluetooth and wireless connectivity ease the cable crunch and add internet and Bluetooth connection so you don’t have to have all kinds of cabling running to your computer that you don’t need. You also have plenty of connection options when you do want to connect things with four USB connections on one side and two more on the other, a modem connection, an i Link connection, 5 in 1 card reader and four audio connections.
There are plenty of options and connections on the Toshiba Satellite X205-SLi6 that you will be hard pressed to use them all and they give you plenty of options without having to worry about future upgrading. The Satellite X205-SLi6 laptop is a nice and feature packed desktop replacement that can handle a large range of computer functions and would make a nice portable gaming and multimedia laptop or a desktop replacement.
Overall the Satellite X205-SLi6 is a nice and full featured laptop computer with plenty of features. It does weigh a lot and is about the largest laptop I have reviewed but it has a lot inside to warrant the size and weight.
