PNY 9800 GTX+

The PNY Technologies GeForce XLR8 9800 GTX+ graphics card is a top of the line card for today’s current high resolution and demanding games. The card has all the latest technologies including DDR3 512MB memory running at 2200 MHz with a 738 MHz core and is able to run in a three way SLI system.

The PNY 9800 GTX+ is a great graphics card that has a lot going for it including a lot of processing power for the best graphics available in a single core GPU graphics card. I took this card for a test run on two systems and compared it to an ATI HD 3870 X2 as well as a lower series NVIDIA 8800 GT to get some comparisons.

The PNY 9800 GTX+ is a current generation 9 series graphics card that is DirectX 10, OpenGL 2.1 and PCI Express 2.0 x16 compliant for the best graphics and pretty much the most current features. The PNY 9800 GTX+ comes with the card itself, Drivers on a CD, two power adapter cables, a TV cable adapter, a DVI to HDMI adapter and a DVI to VGA adapter.

The card has the usual two DVI connections on the back for connecting up to two monitors as well as a special connection for a cable adapter that allows you to connect a TV or monitor using an S-Video or Component cable connection. To connect the PNY card out to an HDMI television or monitor you can use the DVI output and the included DVI to HDMI adapter.

The PNY 9800 GTX+ includes optional audio over the DVI/HDMI connection using an internal cable that connects from the PNY graphics card to your sound card for sound through the HDMI. You do not have to use this for sound through your computer; this is only for sound out through an HDMI connection to a television or monitor with a speaker system.

The card installs easily and the NVIDIA drivers are easy to install, but I would download the latest drivers from PNY or NVIDIA to get the best results from the card. I tested the card on two systems for a very good improvement in most of the gaming and definitely in overall synthetic benchmark scores.
