The removable case insert is a nice zippered compartment that would be perfect for a change of clothes during a quick business trip.
The Pelican Case is tough and I could sit on it with very little noticeable bending of the lid in the center but I would not do this with a laptop secured on the lid inside. I just did this to see how strong the case is and it is definitely strong enough to support my whole weight on the lid.
The Pelican 1510LOC Case can carry a lot for such a small case if you pack right, just tossing clothes into a case does not work. I fit a pair of slacks and a pair of jeans, a long sleeve and short sleeve shirt, two pairs of sock and two pair of underwear into the zippered case insert. I also fit a full sized desktop keyboard, the Logitech MX5500 and the mouse as well as the power adapter into the zippered insert.
I then added my 15 inch laptop in the pouch and had room in the small zippered pouch for my personal items for a trip all in the Pelican Laptop Overnight Case. That’s enough clothes for an overnight trip easily fitting into the case but you can also use the case for things like camera equipment or a computer projector as well.
I had no problems packing for my imagined trip and would definitely use this case for a trip with my laptop computer for the benefits of protection as well as one piece of luggage for all I needed.
