The Genius M609 Multi Media Tablet puts the pen and tablet in your hand for some great use in imaging programs and just about any other program you could wish. The tablet works great and installs easily but the real functions that mean a lot are what could be termed accessibility.
I have reviewed another genius tablet and have been very happy with it since receiving it when using my Photoshop program. The delicate use of a pen and tablet when editing images is great for those really intrinsic details you just cannot get by using a mouse. The fine work around edges of images like erasing around a cropped image or using the fine control to really do a good job with functions like cutting images and pasting them while getting the edges clean and crisp are what make a tablet essential in image editing.
The pen and tablet is a really nice addition when performing image editing but what about other uses like general web browsing or computer use. You can also use a tablet for that accessibility type use if you can’t use a mouse as well as a pen and tablet. For those that use a tablet often having a few extra commands on one or extra features can mean less aggravation while using your tablet for day to day work in between those image editing sessions.
I have read how many people who do a lot of image editing will often use their tablet for day to day work instead of getting the mouse out and using it. It is a hassle to move the tablet out of your way and get the mouse unraveled or find that cordless one. Now you have extra features on the Genius M609 Multi Media Tablet like the dual rolling pads and the multimedia buttons. You also have a nice array of programmable keys for use with up to 26 programs for easy start up as well as the full or widescreen choice.
The Genius M609 comes with the tablet itself, a touch pen with battery and holder, the instruction manual and drivers on a CD as well as the extra Ulead PhotoImpact 12SE image editor. The Genius Tablet has the two rolling pads on each top corner with the five buttons for multi media and other uses in between. The tablet is about 13 by 10 inches and less than a half inch thick with either a 9 by 5.5 or 7 1/4 by 5.5 inch working area.
The wide or standard working area means that whatever resolution or monitor aspect ratio you have, 4:3 or 16:9, you can change the working area for easy use of the Genius Tablet with any size monitor. This means no hassling with the right size screen so you can just open your image editing program and start using it without fear of having to hunt around for things on the sides of your screen that are off the tablet working area.
Changing the ratio size on the tablet is done by the two buttons at the top of the tablet appropriately marked Wide and Standard. The other buttons up top there are the Volume, Zoom and Scroll for changing the sound volume, zooming things on your monitor and scrolling from up/down and side to side scrolling.
