I once purchased an NVIDIA 6600 graphics card way back and installed it in a Windows 98 computer before I started to get into reviewing computer stuff. Years later I am again reminded of those times when I could not afford to buy a really good graphics card and had to settle for a less expensive and even late model one.
By the way, that NVIDIA 6600 is still going strong some six years later, but the cost is not the only problem with that purchase. It was an older card at the time I bought it and the next series was already on the market, I just could not afford the newest or the best at the time.
Foxconn introduces an affordable solution to those with less money as well as people not needing a super fast graphics card for computers like entertainment PC’s. The Foxconn 9500GT with 256MB of GDDR3 128 bit memory with a DVI, VGA and an S-Video output for plenty of connection choices.
The Foxconn 9500GT is based on the NVIDIA G96 core with 256MB GDDR3 High-Speed Memory, Full HDCP Support, Full Microsoft DirectX 10 Shader Model 4.0 Support and is PCI Express 2.0 compliant. The card is the latest thing to come out for this generation of graphics but is not the high end; this one is for those that don’t need or can’t afford the top of the line.
The Foxconn 9500GT is standard overclocked to 560 Hz for the core clock and 810 MHz for the memory and you can even try to overclock it yourself with the included software. I tried to do some overclocking but did not really receive much of an improvement from the card in my benchmark testing.
The Foxconn Foxware program is a nice program that allows for overclocking right from your desktop with a simple interface that gives you core and memory clock speeds, a chance to set back to default and a temperature monitor and alarm. This simple program is nice with no extras so you can simply overclock and not have any worries about messing anything else up with your changes.
