The Core-Contact Freezer from Sunbeam does a fantastic job of keeping an AMD AM2 or Intel LGA 775 system cool and operating at peak efficiency. The design of the Core-Contact Freezer gives the CPU cooler a better standoff from the motherboard and CPU to allow better airflow around the motherboard.
The Core-Contact Freezer also has a unique fin design with bent fins toward the center of your case and right out where the fan on the rear of the PC case is when installed. This pushes the heated air coming across your heat sink fins toward the openings of your case perfectly for a much better cooling solution.
The Sunbeam Core-Contact Cooler is a tall cooler designed for both AMD and Intel motherboards with AMD AM2/AM2+ and Intel LGA 775 systems. The Core-Contact Cooler is 125mm x 104mm and 155mm tall with a good 45mm from the base to the first aluminum fins. This gives a good clearance for heat sinks, memory and other things near the CPU area for an uncluttered cooling solution around the CPU area.
The Core-Contact Cooler also comes with a 120mm Magnetic Fluid Dynamic Bearing fan that is very quiet and smooth operating as well as a rear mount fan controller. The fan controller connects from a motherboard fan power source to the fan itself and controls fan speed with the control knob at the rear of your PC case.
The CPU cooler also comes with a handy LGA 775 motherboard mount adapter that gives you perfect AMD mounting smoothness from a LGA 775 motherboard. The adapter is a plastic base that has the AMD clip design so the cooler only has one clip system on it and you install the adapter on an Intel LGA 775 based motherboard.
This gives you a simple solution as many of the motherboards are much easier to use with an AMD design for retaining the coolers that is a bit easier than the Intel designs. I really like the bracket and mounting design as it makes a quick and convenient way to attach the cooler to the motherboard and CPU.
The Core-Contact Freezer also comes with a tube of Tuniq TX-2 Thermal Grease that will last for several installations instead of a skimpy amount good enough only for the one use. The TX-2 Thermal Grease is a very good thermal conductive paste for use on your CPU and other components and I have read good reviews of it in comparisons on the internet.
