Com One Bluetooth Multimedia 2.1 Speakers

Each satellite speaker body is made from plastic with a small metal base that inserts into the bottom rear of the speaker for a base prop. The speakers have an 1 1/2 inch speaker without any protective covering over it near the top and you can actually watch it vibrate in the plastic housing when playing music.
I found the idea of having the speaker open like this was a bit unnerving but I am usually careful when handling these devices anyway and don’t move them very often. Inside the speakers plastic case there is only the 1 1/2 inch speaker so there is plenty of empty room as the speaker body is 7 1/4 inches tall and 2 1/2 inches wide with a a depth from front to back of 1 inch to 1 1/4 inches.
The speakers sound pretty good for the system and I was not surprised at how well the overall quality is from the subwoofer and speaker system. I am past judging on looks and size for my computer and consumer electronics and very unsurprised at the quality some companies can put into their products, even companies I have never heard of before or ones that are smaller.
The subwoofer puts out a nice deep and even bass with the speakers putting out nice mid and high notes for a good overall listening experience. The Com One Bluetooth Multimedia 2.1 Speakers work well together without the smaller speakers being too small and the subwoofer giving that right mix of bass and midtones.
The speaker set does a nice job with music as well as movies and gaming and I found using the Bluetooth to be just as good as the wired connection. When I read about the Com one speaker set and asked to review it I had to scramble to find out more about Bluetooth and what I could use to check out the Bluetooth capabilities.
I found a Bluetooth transmitter from a company called Zoom and received it a few weeks after receiving the Com one speakers and was all set to go and wirelessly connect the speakers to my Sansa View. To connect with Bluetooth and the transmitter I simply had to press the connect button to get both the speakers and the transmitter talking to each other.
When you power on the Bluetooth speakers a blue light will flash on the control pad and let you know it is looking for a Bluetooth signal. The speaker will remain in receive mode and wait for a signal but you can use the speakers with the 3.5mm connection without any problems with this.

The speakers will just stay in receive mode but it does not affect the speakers or how they work for a connection and playing music or gaming over the wired connection. If it does find a signal it will stop blinking and either wait for a pass code or just start working if a transmitter does not use a code system.
The code system is for more complicated devices that have security issues like computers or console game systems but small transmitters like the one from Zoom does not include a pass code system. You simply turn on the transmitter and the speaker system and press the connect button on the transmitter so the devices will talk to each other and connect in a few seconds.
You can output music from a good distance with the Bluetooth connection and I had no problem with taking my Sansa view outdoors and still having the speakers playing while inside. This was through the walls of my house but reception did have a problem when I went away from the house into my backyard but I was impressed with the reception near the house and in the yard.
I would definitely say the 33 feet of reception is useable from the speaker system and the setup worked just fine from a decent distance even through walls. The Bluetooth had no problems receiving the signals and I really could not tell any difference whether using the Bluetooth wireless or the wired connection.
The speakers sound equally good using either connection method and the sound is really pretty good for such a low cost setup with the Bluetooth feature. The Com one Bluetooth Multimedia 2.1 Speakers cost about $85 for the set and is available from quite a few online stores.
The Com one Bluetooth Multimedia 2.1 Speakers have a nice 3D feature that creates a bit of an artificial 3D surround sound that makes it a bit hard to tell where the sound is exactly coming from. Of course this is not as good as a true surround sound but it does add to the quality of the system and makes for a really good computer or console gaming speaker setup.
The sound quality is definitely worth the price and I would have to say that the addition of the Bluetooth connection is even better than I would have thought. I really could not tell the difference between wired and Bluetooth when using the Com one speakers.
I highly recommend the Com one Bluetooth Multimedia 2.1 Speakers for a great sounding speaker system with Bluetooth connection as well as wired 3.5mm audio. The Com One speaker system has good clear highs and well balanced bass for a good overall system that sounds much better than its sticker price.
