Airpad Pro III & Airpad Soles

Power Support manufactures a lot of Apple accessories and protective products but also a few mouse pads including the Airpad Pro series. The Airpad Pro III is a varied size mouse pad made from a fluorocarbon resin on one side and some kind of adhesive slightly sticky material on the back.

The slightly rough side is the mousing surface which is a slick material like the Teflon on pans and does not actually make it rough except when compared to the back. The back side is very smooth but an almost tacky feel to it that keeps it in place without having too much stuff like dust or debris sticking to it.

The Airpad Pro III has an excellent sliding surface with the resin on the top that creates a very slick and smooth surface for your mouse. The Airpad Pro III comes only with the pad itself but you can also purchase some Airpad Soles that are slick mouse feet designed specifically for the Airpad material.

I recently received a new mouse to review and the cord still has the kinks in it from being wrapped up in the package and twist tied. On occasion the mouse literally slides by itself on the surface of the mouse pad due to the cord pushing it along that is a really slick surface.

Airpad Soles

The Airpad Soles make for an even better mousing surface and come in a variety of sizes, in circles or ovals that work well for just about any mouse. The Airpad Soles come in different thicknesses as well so if your mouse has small protrusions you can use the thicker ones to make sure they clear anything like small ribs on the bottom of a mouse like on the Logitech G5.

The Airpad Pro III that I received is the small size that is perfect for a traveling mouse pad to take along on trips or with your laptop. This smaller sized pad of 5.83” by 8.11” is a nice traveling size but not really for gaming, the larger one at 16.06" x 12.05" would be great for gaming.

Airpad Pro III

The Airpad Pro III is an almost rubber like material with a slightly hard surface on the top and the bottom is slightly sticky for better stability. The top surface is nice and slightly rough but smooth with a mouse that has Teflon feet, or you can put on those Air Soles that you can also purchase from Power Support.

The Airpad Pro has good smooth action with a mouse and the cursor has no problems with stuttering or skipping with the mouse feeling really smooth on the pad. This is the smoothest I have had a mouse feel on a surface and I really like the gliding the mouse does on the Airpad Pro III.

If either side of your Airpad Pro gets dirty you can simply wash it with soap and water and dry it off to get dirt or whatever off easily. The slightly sticky side does accumulate some stuff depending on how much you move around your mouse pad but the little debris easily washed off.

The Airpad Pro III is available from the Power Support website but they are a bit on the expensive side from $33 to $98. They have 5.83” by 8.11”, 6.85" x 8.58", 7.72" x 9.92" and 16.06" x 12.05" sizes and the Airpad Soles are $6 to $8 per set.

I highly recommend the Airpad Pro III for a great feeling and smooth action mouse pad that really delivers the feel you want in a slick and smooth mouse surface.
