I do have to warn you about the drives you do use with the Zonet enclosure; if you have a cheaper drive that gets hot you should not set the enclosure on its side to lengthen the hard drives life. I used a drive bracket that I got with another external hard drive and used it to stand the drive enclosure up to get more cooling when in operation as the Western Digital drive I installed does get a bit warm. This is the only thing I found that was lacking in the enclosure was the stand to have the enclosure rest on its side.
The enclosure works well and is hot swappable which means you can just unplug the drives USB cable and not have to worry about the drive messing up your computer. You do not have to shut down your system to unplug the drive and you have the convenience of a drive you can use anywhere.
I have started using my Zonet hard drive enclosure with a rather large drive as a storage for videos and media I can play on my PlayStation3 which means walking the drive up and down stairs to load videos and movies. This may sound like a drag but it is actually fairly easy as I will not be doing the loading all the time, just occasionally. Having the convenience of a separate drive on my PS3 and being able to quickly and easily move the drive around is essential for some users and makes the enclosure very handy.
The Zonet 3.5” USB 2.0 SATA Hard Drive Enclosure is a very easy to use device and installing the drive could not be simpler. I highly recommend the Zonet hard drive enclosure for an inexpensive and well made enclosure for an external hard drive that is easy to set up and use.
