The VIZO Mirrorbox CR All-In-1 Card Reader is a great way to get all that information squirreled away on those Secure Digital, Compact Flash and other types of memory cards to your computer. The VIZO Mirrorbox CR is the second card reader from VIZO model number MIR-521 and works with High Speed USB 2.0 and is backwards compatible to USB 1.1.

The Mirrorbox CR takes all these cards in the four slots on the front of the box and has a Mini-B USB connection on the back that connects to your computer. The Mirrorbox CR comes with the box itself and a short USB cable to connect it to your computer, all you need for using the Mirrorbox CR.
The Mirrorbox CR has an Led on the top corner to let you know when it is connected, accessing the installed card and when it is having a problem. The Mirrorbox CR is a nice compact size at 3 1/2 inches wide, 2 inches tall and a half inch thick; small enough for a shirt pocket.
I did some testing using the same Secure Digital, Compact Flash and Memory Stick Pro using the VIZO Mirrorbox, a VIZO 5 1/2 inch bay installed card reader and a couple of single stick readers from Ativa, SanDisk and Digital Concepts. The results are pretty favorable and not all that surprising.
I compared the three types of memory cards with the VIZO Mirrorbox CR and the VIZO bay reader and they were very close to each other. The three other card readers performed pretty well with the same cards and I even compared the results of my SD card and the Mirrorbox CR with three other SD cards on unknown readers.
The results show that all the cards perform about the same give or take in a few instances with a few known variations. The most important factor is that the card reader gave consistent results and ones that were comparable to other cards and readers.
The reason the compact flash results drop off straight down at 2MB is the card I was using is a 64 MB capacity but is actually a bit less than this. The test, SiSoftware Sandra Professional, could not test the 64MB range because it would need at least 64 MB of card space and the actual card does not have that much available.
The other tests all performed just fine and there were no large problems, the VIZO Mirrorbox CR performed about the same as the bay reader from the same company with the other readers also doing well. The Mirrorbox CR did a little better than most of the other readers I have, probably due to it being a newer technology and product.
The reader also performed well against the other SD cards I found on the data base from SiSoftware to show that it is comparable to other tests performed by other people. The reader performed well and the main thing I found was that it performed consistently in all the testing with the cards I have.
If you’re looking for a complete and current card reader that is small enough for a side pocket or to slip into a shirt pocket the Mirrorbox CR from VIZO is perfect. With speeds that are not only adequate for general use but a wide range of memory cards compatibility the Mirrorbox CR is a great card reader that I highly recommend.
