VIZO Cooler & Case Fans

The cooling benefits of the cooler with the fans on but the computer at idle or not running any programs was negligible as you might expect. But the most benefit is while you are running intensive programs and I saw the most benefit of having both fans blowing directly on the area near the processor.

A little repositioning of fans saw a little higher temperature for the processor but I placed the second fan under the hard drive area on my notebook and saw a four degree cooler reading on the hard drive while running the notebook with prime95. These adjustments just goes to show that with the cooling fans pointing at the area you need the cooling it does work well.

The Mini Ninja Notebook Cooler from Vizo does a really good job at cooling a notebook, even my 17 inch widescreen, by positioning the fans exactly where you need them. A little testing and you can see the benefits you want or you can just eyeball the fan positions according to the vents on your notebook. However you decide to use the adjustable fans you will definitely get the most cooling out of the Mini Ninja Notebook Cooler.

The two fans I received for reviewing from Vizo are the 80 MM x 25 MM Freezer Case Fan and the 120 MM x 25 MM Super Muffle Case Fan. Both fans are very quiet and have very smooth bearings that use magnetism and an oil film to create a super smooth and quiet long lasting fan.

I also tested these fans against some other fans I have and saw very good results in noise levels. I used a Scosche noise level meter that is weighted in the C scale for the noise level testing. Using the fan by itself and a silent power supply I ran the fans in a small room with no immediate noises near me.

The fans I tested the Vizo against range from .18 amps up to .6 amps and all where 120 MM fans with two 25 MM thick and one a 38 MM thick fan. The Vizo fans are .15 amps for the Freezer Case Fan and .065 amps for the Super Muffle Case Fan. The lowest noise levels were the Vizo Freezer fan at 58 bDc and an Ultra .18 amp case fan at 60 bDc. The Super Muffle Case Fan read 62 dBc and the others were all higher at 70 to 94 dBc which gets to be a bit noisy.

The fans all work well and blow air like they should according to their amperage rating with both Vizo fans in the three lowest noise fans. The Vizo fans seem smoother but that may just be me and the hopes that those better bearings really do run smoother. I know that using the rubber mounts and actually looking for movement of the fan does not show me much so the smoother part may only be my wishful thinking.

I know the fans are quieter than most of the other fans I have and do the job they are supposed to do well. I attached one fan to my case and the smaller one to my rather large CPU heat sink and the even the smaller fan does a good job of keeping my desktop processor cool and happy. Both fans run quiet and I only need to get a quieter power supply to have a very quiet computer as all the fans I have are the silent or nearly so kind.

The Vizo Ninja Notebook Cooler does an excellent job of keeping even my 17 inch widescreen notebook cooler with its adjustable fans. The Super Muffle Case Fan and the Freezer Case Fan work well and are very quiet computer case fans. I highly recommend both the Mini Ninja Notebook Cooler and the Freezer and Super Muffle Case fans from Vizo.
