My network is setup to be just like any other household, maybe with a few more computers, and would be simple to use and work on for anyone who could install the program on their computer. You can install the TRENDnet drivers and configuration using the Install CD or just by using the internet browser setup and the IP address 192.168.10.1.
Routers often have a setup where you do not need any drivers or software but can go directly to the router from your internet browser like Internet Explorer. Just go the address bar, type in 192.168.10.1, hit enter and it will go the admin login of the router. Then when you type in admin and press enter it will bring you to the main page of the router where you can set your admin name and password, setup your router through the various wizards and setup your wireless security.
The TRENDnet router setup is very simple for a common network like at home or even a small business one like I consider mine. I have 7 computers on my network and have the usual emails, gaming, chats and instant messaging programs that all use the network. The setup was very simple using the wizards and I have had very little problems at all with my network using the TRENDnet setup.
I have not had any problems with chat or instant messaging programs, gaming or other programs needing to open ports or other settings to get them to work through the firewall of the router. The router does all this automatically when you install the program and most of the time does not even ask you about it. On occasion I have had to okay a port to open for a program so there is an occasion when this is necessary.
The TRENDnet 300Mbps Wireless N Gigabit Router works very well and is simple to set up using either the included Install CD or straight to the router form an internet browser. The router may not get you up to the 300 Mbps speeds but it does get very good speeds for a home or small business network.
