Behind the Scenes
with America's Test Kitchen
All-New 2008 Companion Cookbook to the Hit TV Show

This companion cookbook to the hit TV show America’s Test Kitchen not only gives you the recipes, helpful tips and hints, comparison shopping and great resources for exactly how to cook things the way that makes them come out tasting great.
America’s Test Kitchen does not only give you a recipe and show you how to cook it but they give you the exact tips and hints that end at the best tasting recipe they could come up with. The show starts with a simple concept of cooking a specific recipe and tries their hand at doing just about everything they can to make it better and easier for you.
I have not only watched several seasons of America’s Test Kitchen but was interested in the companion cookbook Behind The Scenes with America’s Test Kitchen. The book is not only a cookbook but a comparison shopping guide, a taste testing guide and equipment guide and a cooking hints and tips book.
Between the covers of Behind the Scenes you will get a section for a few recipes under a common theme such as French Classics or Favorite Slow Cooker Classics. Each section will have a few recipes but also includes taste testing of ingredients, comparisons and ratings of kitchen equipment and food you can actually purchase as well as the great tips from experimental cooking to make each recipe come out great.
They also add tips to alter the recipe for various outcomes you may be interested in such as cookies and how to get thinner candy like ones or thicker cake like cookies. Each recipe has hints and tips to make the cooking easier as well as variations to add your own flair and style to the recipe to make it come out how you want. They have done plenty of experimenting to find out why things happen in certain recipes and cooking to inform, entertain and answer common questions.
